Anyone know off hand how much heavier an A1 stock (with trapdoor) is than the M4 stock. It has to be quite a bit.
Don’t have an A1 stock, but I have an A2 stock which measures 20.30 oz without a buffer or spring in. Since the A1 is only 5/8" shorter, figure maybe 19 oz?
Dont have an M4 stock for comparison, but the Magpul CTR is 14.0 oz, and I think an M4 stock is lighter.
I think a friend of mine has an A1 stock I could check coming up Saturday if no ones come back on the weight for you.

May not be what you’re looking for… but the extra weight back there doesn’t make much of a difference at all. The important thing to consider is the length of the stock for your preferences, or the gun being too front heavy.
