Has anyone tried one of these on a non War Sport upper?
I am considering trying out the Top Hat on my SBR build until i can buy a suppressor and run my BC 51.0.
I have a 13.7" middy with a 13" (13.4") KMR. I like the Top Hat design, and am curious how well the device works for flash and as a comp.
They certainly have a fancy website.
I haven’t heard of War Sport. Their rifles are pretty expensive.
I have some indirect experience with one having fired it on a friends DD MK 18. Two observations. The top hat is a nice design for shooting a straight brake closer to people as the concussive force side to side is less than a BattleComp, but not worth the extra expense at all. The recoil reduction compared to any other brake (Surefire, BattleComp, Triple Tap etc.) was nominal.
If you’re going to run a can why not buy the brake associated with your can instead of buying the War Sport and having to essentially “throw it away” when you have your can?
Buy a Surefire brake (great brake for less money) and then buy a Surefire can and call it a day? The same can be said of AAC although their Brake and Brakeout aren’t as effective as the Surefire.
I have a BC 51.0 waiting for an AAC M4-2000.
Im not really worried about cost. I was just curious if anyone has tried one and how it worked.
The war sport SBR is a 12.5" mid gas. I really want to try that upper, but its $2k
