Wanting a mid length Dissipator

I have been looking at a Bushmaster. Does Bushmaster now make a Dissy with a mid length gas system? Their website is vague and only states that the gas block is behind the front sight block.

I have also considered building from a Del-ton kit. But this kit doesn’t specify if it is a mid length system or carbine length system.

No bushmaster.

Does this mean that Bushmasters are all carbine length?

I just returned a PSA upper due to the fact that the barrel where the FSB is mounted is undersized(.735" instead of .750"). PSA is aware of this and has said that they are trying to get FN to make barrels that are .750" out to the muzzle. It could be up to 5 more months before we see them.

I think he’s saying don’t buy Bushmaster, period. They are not a highly regarded company around here (and with good reason)…

Yes, they are all carbine length.

Unless they are rifle length.

Very true.

For just a little more money, you can buy something high quality.

Read the stickies in the various subforums, and enjoy your stay at M4C.

If you can hold your horses, BCM is working on getting a Dissy on the market. Knowing what I know about BCM, they will probably be offering a mid-length gas system…

Is this what you ordered from Palmetto?

I recently sold the Dissy upper that I bought for my wife from PSA. It was a nice upper with good finish and it functioned for the 500 rds that we put through it; however it was too heavy for her. The MOE handguards a lot of people use are heavier than a lot would expect, so keep that in mind.

A 14.5" LW is in the works, with either a Samson or Geissele 11" rail.

The one that I purchased didn’t have the FN barrel. They no longer have it listed on thier website. It was $449 (complete).

Thanks for the help guys. All comments are appreciated.

I do want high quality and I am not in a big hurry. I am also looking at an A2 since this will strickly be my “irons” gun.

The PSA Dissy upper that I just returned seemed light to me. But I have been shooting 16" Hbar RRA for several years.

Got mine from Spikes and have been very pleased with it. Its a Lightweight Middy…shoots smooth and accurate.

Outside of a desire to shoot iron sights, the Dissy doesn’t really make a lot of sense. But if I was going to buy one available now I’d get the LW Spikes because it offsets the overall heavier configuration a bit.

This is the PSA Dissipator Upper…
