Wanting 300blackout ?

wanting a 300 blackout but have some questions .
are they reliable shooting subsonic and fullhouse loads ?
I read on one manufacturer sight that if shooting subsonic you have to use a can and it will only shoot standard velocity with out the can:help:

My guess is you will have to ask specific details about barrel, load, buffer spring to determine if there are issues.

I know that Noveske claims that their 10.5" barrel 300BLK may not cycle 100% with the Remington subsonic loads without a can, but I have not had any issues with mine. However, I am waiting for my tax stamp as I plan to run mine with a can all the time anyway.

AAC uppers shoot from subsonic unsuppressed to supersonic suppressed with no adjustments needed.

Are the AAC uppers available for public consumption?

Yes.
Bullseye, Allen Arms, Houston Armory, Major Malfunction, and a bunch of other dealers have them in stock.

“The Noveske 300 AAC BLACKOUT is designed to run optimally firing both subsonic suppressed and supersonic unsuppressed, while keeping supersonic suppressed reliable. It may not reliably cycle the action under adverse conditions with subsonic ammunition unless a silencer is attached. We recommend supersonic ammunition for Military, Law Enforcement, and Self Defense use without a silencer.”

There is a range of pressure and time under pressure with supersonic/subsonic, and suppressed/unsuppressed. Optimal function will be with subsonic suppressed and supersonic unsuppressed, without the cyclic rate being too high supersonic suppressed.

Subsonic without a silencer is the least reliable mode (and least useful). If tuned for subsonic unsuppressed the other modes would be over gassed and supersonic suppressed would become the least reliable.

Is there anyone talking or thinking about making 300 BLK barrels for the SCAR 16? Thanks

A bunch of people should ask FN to.

FN doesn’t seem very interested in creating options. I wonder if anyone else will become interested?

I’m currently testing and reviewing this platform, ammo. I will post all data soon. So far i’m sold, accurate, powerful and reliable. Functions very well.

I just got back from the gunshow at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Boy there were people carrying AR’s all over the place and plenty of people selling guns, parts and ammo…
However, everyone I asked about the 300 blackout either they gave me a blank stare or said “I never heard of that, what is it?”
Rifle Gear, LAX Range, Miwall Ammo and SOG were doing a landoffice business. Not one of them carried 300 blackout or 300 whisper and didn’t really seem interested in them. Ammo Bros. were aware of them but I got the, I don’t think I need that round I shoot a 6.8 and 6.5.

If I could have bought the ammo or a barreled upper I would have spent the money, had it my pocket, but no one seemed to want my money for a 300 anything.
The first seller who can talk about either round and supply the ammo and metal parts will make money. One guy said they had some barrels coming" sometime in the future", when I asked if the barrels would be complete he said “no gas block”. What good are they if you can’t put one an upper and shoot after checking the head space?
RSilver, you need to talk to your marketing people and gets some ammo and parts into the West Coast gun show circuit.

Right now just us inside people know about it. We will promote it to consumers when UMC ammo is in stock. We will promote it to hunters when hunting ammo is in stock. DPMS and Bushmaster will promote their guns when they are out.

There is no point in running magazine ads until cheap ammo is at all the distributors.

Every major gun company is interested and most are making prototypes now. All of the biggest of big names.

That’s good to hear. I’m chomping at the bit to get one, but right now I can’t afford to drop $1k or more on an upper. I have seen them for less but they were all advertised with pistol length gas systems, and I want a 16" carbine length gas system for supersonic/not suppressed.

I have contacted several places to ask if they were going to carry the 300Blk, and they told me that I was the first one to ask and they had no plans to have them. Back to the drawing board I go.

When will standard velocity ammo be more available? I’v been interested in this platform for a while but SV ammo has been a no show for months.

I have fours rifles in .300BLK, I have that much faith in this caliber. 2 SBR ARs, 1 16" AR, 1 16" Rem 700.

I agree. Once the ammo becomes available, those waiting will make things pop.

This is pretty fun to watch the relatively explosive growth of this new round. It is rather ironic that very, very similar rounds were available but never caught on widely. I also can’t see why the 6.8 SPC never caught on either with all the positive attributes it has - maybe the buffoonery with the different specs and lack of affordable ammo which it seems the industry learned a lot from (at least how not to do it). At any rate I look forward to getting a 300BLK barrel for my MRP when they are available.

Take just one load - the UMC coming out. We have more of that on the loading schedule than every 6.8 load combined by all companies who make 6.8 added together. And that does not even include the other loads, like the match, hunting ammo, or subsonic.

This is why I don’t go to gun shows any longer. Overpriced and not knowledgeable.

I’m interested in this, only going to run it with a can and subsonic ammo. Anybody want to give me an idea on the best barrel length and gas tube length? I have an SBR and a pistol receiver so short barrels arent a problem…Thanks
