I have FA stuff and done the Form 4 thing, not an issue, but never a Form 1. In all my searching, keeps referencing a trust which I do not have so no clear directions here.
I am in VA, and simply want to make one of my AR lowers an SBR.
Do I simply fill out a 2-Form 1s with pic, fingerprint cards, take to the local LEO and when done there, send off to WVA with a $200 check?
If the receiver already has a serial number, must I add something else of my own creation?
If you’re LEO will sign then the hard part is pretty much done. Fingerprints, citizenship form, pics and check for $200.00 mail it to the right department and the wait begins…unless I miss something.
Have the lower engraved with your name, city and state when your F1 comes back approved or before.
I’ve gone the Corp. and/or Trust route on my NFA stuff as it’s alot easier.
I would suggest having the receiver engraved BEFORE sending off the forms. That way if something happens to the receiver you are only out the receiver and not a $200 tax stamp. Also. once it is an NFA item not just anyone can possess the item unless you are there with it.
