Want to build a .308

Hey guys, I’m still pretty new to the world of building an AR and have some pretty rudimentary questions about building an upper. I already have a colt le6920 new, never fired lower with the H buffer and it is a lower off of a 556 colt. My question is can you mate a .308 upper to a lower that is marked for 556?

Of course. You will need a good drill, some drill bits and some quality wood glue.

I would advise you to just buy a .308 from a quality manufacturer though.

I am about 90% for keeping it a 556, 10% for a 308. I was thinking about throwing a knight’s armament or bravo company upper on it. I also like the lower that i am gonna use. it should turn out pretty well for my first build.

No a 556 lower will not work with a 308.

Screw the wood glue, he needs on of these.

I can’t believe amazon is selling welders now. Reminds me of my days working construction and fabricating. I’ll probably just stick with a complete, seems like a lot less bull to deal with. Thanks guys! I appreciate the input.

Not a problem, we all start out green.
