Wal-Mart price increased!

Well Wal-Marts prices have finally gone up… Their Federal champion 9mm is now 11.97 a box, was 10.47 a box. Their Remington 250 rd brick went from 51.98 to 59.98. I didn’t see price increases across the board but so far this is the first price hike I have seen reflecting the increased cost to manufacture due to raw meterial prices. Either on-line or in-store.

Ya man. The prices went up back in April.

Where you been?

Well I have been around shooting rounds… Just the price had been pretty steady since April’s price increase this is just the first I’ve noticed I guess…

 Haven’t really paid attention aside from the fact, in general, prices have increased significantly over the past six years.

Im just playin. I guess I look at it like gas prices. You cant NOT drive, thats how I look at shooting. I reload .223 and 30-06, .308…

sometimes Im lazy and just buy it. I dont reload any pistol loads

agreed, no matter the price, most bite their teeth and bare whatever increase, haven’t heard of anyone quitting shooting, hah.
I REALLY wish I could afford to buy all that reloading equipment. ( no thread jacking intended)

I’m told reloading is what I should be doing. I do shoot a lot and it prob would make it slightly more affordable to me. And I agree most of us grin and bare the crazy prices. I could never quit shooting, nor driving… so the gas price analogy is a good one…

agreed,

We’ll complain & moan but never stop putting rounds down range or driving to said range.
In there lies the problem of saving up for reloading equipment. I can shoot now or buy a brass cleaner and shoot quite some time later.

Winchester white box 100rd box was $24.95. OUCH!!

I went in to buy a couple boxes last nite. That’s a big jump from my last visit to the ammo counter at WalMart

what is winchester whitebox 100@45acp…i reload but heard we are +/-$31

The WWB 45 is 39 and change now. I already thought that their 100 rd federal .223 was expensive can’t wait to see what the price goes up to now

WWB .45 is $39 now? I remember it being $32.97 the last time I was at walmart.

OTOH, I note that PMC Bronze at Palmetto State Armory dropped to $9.99/box / $199.90 for 1000 rounds (+$12 shipping).

Too bad, I buy alot of ammo at Walmart. This may be the straw that gets me a reloader…

Yeah I have actually bought quite a bit of ammo from Palmetto state armory in the past few months. I did actually order 600rds of PMC 9mm a few days ago. As well as xm193 and when they had xm855 on strippers in 420rd ammo cans for 130.

My Walmart used to have the Federal 9mm $9.47/box & the raised it a $1 along with now carrying steel case 9mm for $9.47/box

Now they just raised the Federal to $11.47/box & the steel case is still at $9.47

They are just squeezing out as much as they can from what is selling.

I will buy online & pay shipping now!

WWB 100 box of 9mm went up from $19.97 to $21.97 here

The walmart I go to has WWB 100 pack of 9mm for $ 23.97 for awhile.

Hard to believe it was only $12 per 100rd box of WWB just 5 years ago. Im reloading 124gr for around $7.29/50rds since the latest price increase. Plated bullets jumped $5 per 250. The 9mm bullets are close to the same price now as the .40 bullets were just a couple months ago.

I am always surprised at the amount of regular shooters who don’t reload…especially pistol…its SOOO easy. Cheaper and (can be) more accurate.

At my club there is rarely a stray piece of brass to be found on the ground.

I thought .45 was too expensive 15 years ago. Once I realized I was going to be shooting more than 50 rounds a month, I bought the reloading equipment.
