Looking for any information on a possible Waffen Werks Ak-47. I have one of their 74’s which I like and had heard that they may make a foray into building a 47. Has anyone heard any recent news on this?
They are built on Bulgarian part kits, required US part, chrome lined barrel, and finished in a KG Gun cote. that is about All I can find
They posted over on akfiles that they will be building milled AK-47s and AK-74s in 2013. I’m guessing SHOT will bring some clarification.
Thanks for the information, I will be very interested to see if Waffen Werks can bring this to market quickly. Thus far I am impressed with the 74 that I have and won’t to lock up a 47 before anything further happens to the market. Definitely looking forward to the new product offerings to come out of SHOT.
Anyone know of a distributor for these guys. I know they will be sold out. Just wanna know where to look when things calm down. I have been kinda jones a 5.45x39 for a while now.
Atlantic Firearms and RRC firearms are the two that I am aware of and I bought mine from Atlantic.
What were these going for before the panic set in?
We have had a couple Waffen works 74’s come through for refinishing. I havent shot any but they seem like well made rifles.
MMI makes a real solid ak as well. They are Romanian. The finish is crap but they are built like tanks.
for what its worth, here’s what atlantic firearms had to say about them making 47s (on arf.com, Sept 2012)
“We spoke with them and asked what the scoop was on the AK47 Hype on the web and they said there was no AK47 projects in the works at this time only the Milled AK 74 series. They ship to our warehouse weekly if this AK 47 project was in production we would know about it. Sorry to break the bad news because we would love to see them build the AK47 line but we do not want incorect information out”

Waffen Werks AK-74’s were on sale for ~650.00 when I bought mine.
