Waco on Paramount TV (formerly Spike)

Check it out if you can. So far fair and balanced. Backtracking to Ruby Ridge and did NOT gloss over the Vicki Weaver shooting at all.

6 part miniseries.

Giving a fair shake to both the FBI and the BDs. Source material is two separate books by a BD survivor and one of the FBI Negotiators.

ATF getting the dozens somethin’ fierce from both sides.

Yea I have it recorded will watch as it goes along ! I work while its on so always catch up on the weekends ! Hope it maintains a decent story(facts) from both sides !

I saw it. Not bad.

How about when they were fixing the roof; “I assumed the burden of sex for all of us…but not for my own kicks”! WTF, people followed that guy. I don’t get it.

NYH1.

IKR! People think sex is a “sin” but without it, none of us would be here.

I dont think the BDs were bad people in and of themselves, but some people just want to follow someone else thinking they are pursuing spirituality when really they aren’t.

A lot of people don’t realize they are in a cult until it is too late.

DK was certainly no angel for preying upon people going through a “lost” phase. But still, this all started over de-milled grenades used to make those lame “Complaint Department: Take One” grenade novelties and polygamy.

Honestly, if folks are cool with two dudes going at it then you can have all the wives you want if you can afford them without other peoples tax money.

And a good lesson, if you aren’t tipping your delivery guys/letter carriers with booze and a fitzky at Christmas or Thanksgiving and you are buying uppers and ammo and all then you are doing it wrong.

“Ay yo, G. I got you, man” is the best thing you can hear from the hard-working people delivering your antisocial crap. Especially marked ORM-D.

So a little something something in the mailbox and Waco woulda never happened.

Dig on that.

I’m very well aware of what went on at RR and Waco. I don’t need to watch it again. That will only make me mad. Again.

If you’re not watching, it has gotten super interesting.

Escalated quickly from ATF MP5ing dogs to that really CFed entry.

LOTS of period correct hardware down to the right generation of Glocks.

I NEVER thought I’d see them portray the ATF in such a hard light.

This would’ve never gotten made 20 years ago.

Even Hammerhead from the Unit is a BD (I dont know his real name)

I started watching last week and have some catching up to do but I agree its very interesting, well done and seems pretty even handed. I knew some about DK and BDs but not the whole he assumes the burden of sex for them all. I had always assumed he hand selected only the comliest brood sows available to birth the prophets. Wives and underaged daughter be dammed

This was brought on by dummy grenades? Geez loueeze I wonder what theyd think of my front garden with the various training mines stuffed in there.

What guy did they find UGLY enough to play Janet Reno?

I was working in radio at the time, and remember the standoff, and the day the ATF flattened Koresh quite well. Somehow, I missed the first episode, but it’s interesting to go back and see things you originally missed, had forgotten, or remembered differently. Looks like a very high-dollar production.

Definitely a tall order, Im guessing CGI

Gilbert Gottfried was probably busy

Years ago I was sent to a hostage negotiator class that was taught by an FBI agent who was one of the negotiators at Waco. He gave us some interesting insight on the whole situation and he was convinced the whole mess could have been easily avoided by taking down DK at the local Whataburger he frequented.

Jane Lynch did it in Manhunt:Unabomber which is really good and worth your time.

FIFY…

Will Ferrell was BORN to be Janet Reno.

The whole mess was created by ATF. It was intended to be a huge publicity stunt, they even told the media before the raid, so the TV cameras would show them in their moment of glory.

Whoops…

Guy from Lone Survivor (Taylor Kitsch) and the guy from House of Cards (Paul Sparks) plus John Leguizamo. It seems solid. Surprisingly @Firefly and I agree on a tv show.

Yeah, I have no idea why they simply didn’t get a pair of attractive female US Deputy Marshals to chat up Koresh when he was guitar shopping in Waco. Attach the bracelets and off he goes.

But that would have been efficient and low key. Plus a bunch of people would still be alive.

Partake of this theory at your own risk but…

I spoke with more than one Fed type person who was in the know on Waco who gave talks/seminars and have heard off-handedly more than once that the ATF knew they had kind of a weak case (Their PC was dummy grenades) and was wanting to instigate some kind of resistance to justify their activity. They just didn’t anticipate how much.

I was basically told that if they had picked him up and did it right and got a warrant that it would have gotten tossed and they would have had nothing to show for it. Clinton needed something for his Crime Bill and this was when the big Militia/Separatist scare was in full swing.

Was there weird stuff going on? Sure.
But was there illegal stuff going on? We’ll never really know now, but most likely not. He had gun licenses and if they were worried about kids well that isn’t an ATF issue.

Right now, there is similar stuff going on in Utah with religious people gun and woman hoarding and they don’t get raided.

I kinda believe it myself that they planned to get some kind of resistance to create a self-fulfilling scenario which is just not what LE at any level should be doing.

It’s the same as a policeman going up to a guy he has nothing on, but doesn’t like, then picks a fight, gets it, and then beats him up and charges him out the wazoo to give himself PC when he barely, if at all, had ARS.

ATF was up for a new budget, they needed something “big”…they got it.

Also, Clinton and Reno tested how far they could go.

I got into “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” and have discovered it is centered around his killer, and only 10% to do with Gianni Versace. I watched Unabomber on Discovery and was overall disappointed.

I hear a Timothy McVeigh show is lining up on FX next year supposedly connecting the Oklahoma City bombing to the Branch Davidians, Ruby Ridge, white supremacy, alt-right, religion and gun supporters.

I remember the Waco, I don’t agree with the ATF showing up unannounced and the use of deadly force against children by using tanks with tear gas. I think there is a lot of people who think the fire was started by the government. Either way, Janet Reno will always go down as a pathetic excuse for attorney general.

One of the children from the compound said in 2015 that when she was released, she spent the better part of 6 months in office buildings being told what to say. She said things like “david molested me” and stuff like that but in her interview, she denied that happened and stated that she was told what to say and what to write down. Other children who are full grown adults now have said similar statements. Some say David was a father like figure and during the who ordeal, and no one could recall ever being molested or assaulted in any way. But anyways, a man named Timothy paid the government in full years later.

Has anyone seen either of the two previous docs on Waco - ‘Waco: Rules Of Engagement’ or ‘Waco: A New Revelation’?

I haven’t. Found this in the description for W:ANR: “A retired army officer and a CIA agent both reveal how they have spoken to several Combat Applications Group (nicknamed “Delta Force”) soldiers, who all confirm that they were present on April 19 and that they were "involved in a firefight with the Branch Davidians”

I saw “Rules of Engagement” years ago, and a Delta officer testified before a House or Congressional Committee about training, I don’t recall anything about them being there for the raid. I recall him being critical about ATF not having what he called an “oh shit plan,” for when things go wrong.
