VTAC Cobra Belt review

I needed to replace my badly worn Blackhawk riggers belt and I wanted to try something with the AustriAlpin buckle system. I’ve been eying the VTAC belt for some time and decided to give it a try. There really isn’t much of a description on the website so I figured I’d post up some details here.
The first thing I noticed was the double sewn layers (as you can see in the second photo). This makes it nice and stiff but its still flexible. The workmanship and stitching are solid and it feels much “beefier” than the Blackhawk belt. There is extra stitching down the center of the belt also.
I really felt a difference when I put my duty belt on over it as it just felt more solid. I had to switch from a 7" keeper to a 7 1/2" keeper on the front. Since the belt is double layered you end up with three layers where the loose belt end velcros back on itself. My 7" keeper wouldn’t fit.
The buckle is pretty cool, although you have to remove the “male” portion to thread it through the belt loops. Once its on you just unbuckle/buckle as normal. This is no big deal as I get a few days out of a pair of BDU pants.
Anyway I would recommend this belt to anyone looking for a riggers belt with a Cobra buckle. This would also be a great choice for a inner battle belt.
VIKING TACTICS BELTS

Better pics than the website. Is VTAC sewing them or are the belts farmed out somewhere?

I’m not sure where they are made. The quality is top notch for whoever is producing them.

The VTAC Cobra belts are manufactured by a company called Advanced Warfighting Solutions in Fayetteville, NC. AWS also makes their own CObra belt, you usually have to special order them though due to the fact that the buckles are difficult to come by. I ordered one from them on special order, went to their factory to pick it up and when I did it ended up being a VTAC one. I have been nothing but impressed with the belt as of yet, I wear it every day when in uniform.

how does this belt compare to other cobra belts? does anything make this belt stand out?
