“The Swing Mount provides absolute co-witness height.”
So i looked at ADM’s offerings in a lower 1/3 to match my AD-68C mount for my Aimpoint Pro and on ADM’s website is show this model as a lower 1/3: http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/215/
This is a SM-01, on Vortex’s website they list the SM-01 as the mount that comes with the unit.
I called Vortex about this and i found out that their magnifier is set up to be an absolute co-witness with their RDS, but on other mfgs such as Aimpoint it needs to be matched with a lower 1/3.
So some clarification just in case anyone else is looking at this magnifier thinking it will absolute co witness with their non-vortex rds.
I have a adm 1/3 mount on my t1 and bought the vortex magnifier with swing mount that is supposed to line up lower 1/3. I have no ussues though the mount does put the top of the lense of the magnifier ever so slightly lower than the top of the lense of the t1. There doesnt seem to be any noticeable issues when shooting though.
I just received my vmx3 with 1/3 co-witness swing-mount today. There is definitely a difference in height between my LT150 and the AMD mount. Looking through the glass…the height difference doesn’t seem to affect anything.
I haven’t noticed anything too bad, but it still, it isn’t right. I sent American Defense an e-mail, with a pic attached. In the e-mail, I expressed my dis-satisfaction, and asked what they could do to make it right, I really think I may have an absolute co-witness mount. I am waiting for a response.
Buyer beware…I just got off the phone with Scott at Primary Arms, The Vortex magnifier package VMX3-SM-01 does not come with an AD-SM-01, It comes with an AD-SM-02, which is an absolute co-witness mount. How stupid is that?
