Vortex Viper PST Reticle PICS

Please find some PICS from the Just arrived PST’s
I am just learning how to photo thru glass so the PICS are just OK.

MIRAD version

MOA version

Illumination Off MOA

Shooter position over the top. Easy to see Mag & zero lite pipes

Clearly marked

The reticle is crisp and bright. The dot at the center of the ring is going to be great as it is crisp and covers very little of the target being only 1 moa/.3MIRAD @ 4 power.

Thanks for the picture.

And looks like it has dead-spot on the Illumination dial as well?

If you don’t mind, where is this scope made-in?

Vortex indicates the PST models use Japanese glass and are otherwise made in the Philippines. I think their Razor line is made in the U.S. (using high end Japanese glass.) There is an off position between each illumination setting.

BravoWhiskey’s PST reticle pics are more OK than my attempt. 24 feet at 1x on setting 7 of 10.

Hey Guys,
My pics were targeted at 22’ on a Ben Moore “Bone White” wall with both areas having few lights on. I wanted to show average light conditions inside.
The PSTs do have an off position @ every detent in-between levels.
My pics were @ 6. I did find 1 thru 4 invisible and 5 only visible in a black room. 6 was normal and 10 was very bright. With the recticle on 6 and outside in brite snow covered landscape I saw a crisp ,black reticle and as I traversed over draker targets the reticle would get redder based on how dark the target was. Always had visible reticle.
Shootist recticle pic is better as it is more focused. I focused the recticle ,then put the camera in place and shot pics. I think I will place camera and then refocus reticle based on view finder.
Anyway shootist pic shows better what I see as a reticle.
I have not run this optic but I know I will like the center dot as it is very clear and “spotting” typical objects near my house I was pleased.
My next door neighbors’ house is about 200 yrs away and a vent I know that is about 6’x12’ faces me. When sighting on it @ 4X the center dot barely covers one of the slots. I hope that my range results are as good as Shootist has posted…
The PST’s are made in the Phillipines with Glass from Japan.
Vortex, from what I have been told and seen, manufacture their products in several different places based on price point. The company is American which does all its engineering and development right here in the US. In this era that is great as GE Locomotive (no small operation) moved most of it’s egineering department to China.
I wish everything was made in the US but most domestic cars are less “American made” then Toyotas and Hondas.
