Vortex strike fire

anyone have hands on experience with the Vortex Strike Fire and it’s built in doubler system.

I have the Eotech Xps2 on my AR, but am looking at this as an inexpensive choice for my mini-14.

Funny how that search function works. My Bad!

Palmetto State armories Greenville Store is selling Strike Fires for $119 if anyone is interested.

I don’t care much for the screw in doubler. It fogs up fairly easy and 2x doesn’t do much for me. The strikefire itself has been good to me. I use it for simunition training. It has taken multiple rounds of 556 UTM and Simunition to the front glass, been banged around and dropped into gravel and mud quite a few times. I just wipe it off and go on. So far it keeps functioning and holding zero with no problem.

My main complaint is the battery life and push button off/on. I prefer a manual control as I’ve occasionally seen the rifle dropped or knocked over (clumsy friends in a small room) and it gets turned on. Not a big deal for one night of training but if it isn’t noticed it could run the battery down for you.

2x doubler = bad. Strikefire without doubler = good. First hand experience. Very durable, reliable optic.

thanks for the info, could not pass up at that price
