Vltor CASV-M.. I hate you.. wat to do ???

I have a Vltor CASV-M… and i can’t find the CASV-FS that specifically designed for it :frowning: I’ve searched high and low… everbody is out of stock :frowning: crap :frowning:

so… with this… i dont have a frontsight for my CASV-M… am i alone in this situation??? should i use a A.R.M.S. 41 folding front syt?? will that work with my Troy Rear sight??

Sidenote… my barrel is this (will this fit the ARMS???.. barrel is still in the metro… still being shipped here)

16" .223 Barrel

White Oak Armament 16" .223 Barrel

· 16 inch 1:7 twist Match Grade Stainless Steel barrel
· Wylde Chamber
· Mid-Length Gas
· Light weight contour ( total weight of 34 ounces )
· Available with Standard or M4 feed ramps
· 1/2x28 threaded muzzle to accept standard .223 flash hider or muzzle brake

516840 16" Mid-Gas Barrel

HHHHEELLLLLPPP!!!

this is sandman’s upper:

if you can’t find the CASV-FS, you have three options:

  1. buy a flip front sight & put it on top of the rail (shorter sight radius since your rail stops before it reaches the gas block)

  2. remove your dedicated gas block & install a gas block with a front sight built into it:

  1. replace your gas block with a railed one so you can put a flip front sight on top of it:

Any of the three choices are good…it’s all up to you which one is best suited for your personal preference. Either way, I am willing to catch the dedicated gas block if ever you throw it away! :stuck_out_tongue:

A CASV-M doesn’t have the notch for the front sight/gasblock in the first picture you showed. Just the CASV-EL.

That said, just keep looking and use an optic for now? It’d suck to get a front sight that doesn’t blend too well and then get the dedicated front sight that you can’t find later. Unless you want to send it to me… :stuck_out_tongue: I’m not finding too many parts I want either. Blame Oshit.

i think you can install a standard front sight base with midlength gas system on the CASV-M

here’s a pic from militarymorons:

Hey foxxxy… yeah iv seen that picture from military morons.

I’ll probably go to that option… with the standard front sight

Just have to find the rear sight heheheh:)

thanx foxxxy

fulton armory has FSB’s tapped for setscrews… i’ve used a couple, i don’t like the idea but like the idea of having these cheesy local gunsmiths taking drillbits to my fine barrels less. there are some ways the set-screw design could be improved- tapping the rear ring for a set-screw divot that WOA and others drill into their barrels would be a huge first step.

or send it off to one of the famous gunsmiths praised around here all the time

Might try eguns.com? Email them about what they have in stock.

Thank you sirs for helping a noob

did vltor give you an estimate of when the CASV-M front sight would be back in stock when you contacted them directly?

by the way, i know this doesn’t help your particular situation, but vltor has a new midlength CASV; the CASV-S, which is a bi-level version of the CASV-M, with which you can use any rail mounted front sight.

The FS is out, sorry. CASV-M is in but the FS have been out and on B/O at VLTOR for a while.

Hhmm… havnt tried that… but i should. Got the email address from its sight and already sent an email regarding their ETA on the item  thanx for the advice guys

Im looking in to getting this rail system myself but the one that has the spot for your FSB. I am going to pick up either the DD Omega rail or this. the one thing with the CASV is it seems it might make my sight to high. just wondering how strong it is and if it does make it to high or not?

has anyone tried the Aimpoint Micro with the CASV?

i emailed LT and Blake said the HK height would prolly be my best bet.

i’d like to get a lower 1/3 if possible.

i already have a ADM mount by the way, should i try going from the SOCOM riser to the lower one perhaps?

any thoughts, options, suggestions?

ADM’s site shows a CASV specific mount. Not sure how it co-witnesses though.

Did you check with Grant, he had them a couple of weeks ago.
