Modstock system offers a variety of sling placements. The Modstock has similar sling placements to that of the military issue collapsible carbine stock. The sling placements are properly placed elongated slots to accept the military type nylon sling. Vltor went one step further making sling placement a number one concern. In addition to the carbine type sling slots Vltor added a series of Sling Locking Sleeve to accept the Uncle Mike’s® quick detachable sling swivel. The Carbine Modstock offers two mounting points.
The compartment has a bore, accessible from either end, which will house any item measuring no more then 0.680 of an inch in diameter. The bore dimension was specifically developed to access the 3-volt lithium battery most commonly used in tactical flashlights. The compartment is enclosed on both ends with water and element resistant locking caps, which seals the compartment’s bore.
The Modstock system is made from a special glass filled nylon and metal components. The nylon has been specially formulated to be lightweight, high strength and impact, temperature, and chemical resistant. The metal components are stainless steel or quality carbon steel, finished in manganese phosphate to a MIL-SPEC standard.
