Well I finally was able to get the elusive BCM Kino Upper. I have been wanting one for a while. My goal was not to leave it “as is” but rather to combine some of other stuff that I have and wanted to put together. For the moment it is just the upper as I haven’t decided if I am going to put this on my existing SBR lower or wait until I get something special and then SBR it.

The more I work with the Centurion Arms rails the more I am really sold on them. They lock up tight and they are one of the easier rails to assemble requiring minimal disassembly of the upper. Anytime you don’t need to remove the FSB and pull everything off it’s a good day.
There will be an range report coming up soon. Hopefully I will generate some chrony data and some accuracy reports with and w/o the suppressor.
I too have been going with Centurion Arms. They’re light, integral QD mounts, cheaper than DD and Larue, and as you said they’re stupid easy to install.
I’m interested to see the velocity and accuracy out of this. I am set on getting a 12.5" Kino for general unsuppressed SBR work when I get my current build finished. I was going to throw a spare ACOG I have lieing around on it so the more accurate and more velocity the better.
Good looking setup. I have a BCM 12.5 (non kino) that has been through 2 EAG classes and has been a good shooting gun. It had some problems running some weak reloads but runs fine on milspec ammo. I run mine with the H2 buffer, I haven’t tried one of the A5 buffer systems yet.
Interesting paint job, did you tape off the rail section for looks or for purpose? My next rail will be a centurian rail for a 300 blk upper I am thinking about. I wish they would make a 12" fsp carbine gas rail.
I remember being skeptical when I heard they were making their own rails.
Now I’m wondering how many others are going to offer the C4 as an OEM handguard solution.
I too will pick up one of the 12.0 Carbine FSP units if (when) it appears.
IG - Despite my reservations about that paint job, it looks excellent.
I considered it but in the end I thought this would be adequate. This will be a minimal type of set up. At some point it will get a T-1 and an X300 and I will call it a day.
Hi Jack, how are you? :D. Bearizona is a new attraction where you drive through an area that has wild donkeys, mountain sheep, bison, bears and other critters. As we drove through “bearland” one of the large black bears walked in front of the 4Runner so I just stopped.
He then sauntered over and started sniffing the bumper. I thought he was going to scratch his nose. He then decided to naw on the bumper and I was like WTF!
I slowly moved forward and he walked over to another vehicle.
I don’t see it as an issue because the teeth are almost perfectly flush with the rail.
Very nice upper there IG. Regarding the Kino config—is there any advantage to it over having say a 12" rail and a fixed front sight with the x300 at 0000hrs?
