Has anyone used a shaved front sight base with a VIS II. I am trying to figure out if the forend will cover the entire base? I don’t have the parts in hand and I’m having a difficult time visualizing. Thanks
It will be right at the front edge. Usually I shorten the FSB a little (about 1/16") when using 9" rails over carbine gas length barrels. This because some FSB protrude a tiny bit under some 9" rails. It depends how much clearance the rail manufacturer gives.
