Viking Tactics sling

Does anyone know if the Viking Tactics sling you can order from Brownell’s is any DIFFERENT than the one you would order from Viking Tactics, or any other dealer?

I guess what I am asking are there different manufacturers, that make the slings to different standards. I definitely want it Made in the U.S.A. if I can get it.

Thanks,
Jack

im sure it should be the same. but never really tried ordering both.

Add Larue to your list they also have it for sale. I am betting they are all the same sling except for the quick disconnect Larue offers.

I got mine from Larue. You get some free Laure goodies also…

The slings that Brownell’s sells are the same slings that you get straight from Viking Tactics and they are the ones made in the USA. You would also be surprised at who manufactures those slings.

However, there is a quality difference in the ones sold under the 511 Tactical brand.

I own several VTAC slings and have never had an issue with quality.

I would be willing to bet if one bought from Larue as I did or Brownell’s you get a quality product.

a lot of stuffs aren’t made in the u.s.a. The slings could be assembled in the u.s.a. but the materials probably somewhere else…

5.11 isn’t made in the U.S.

You will because one of mine came from LT.

You are right, the VTAC 511 Tactical sling is not made in the US.

it’s not just the sling… i think that would include the whole line…

i think it’s made in vietnam or indonesia…

I would know . My friend is a dealer in our area.

The whole clothing line is made OCONUS. I have been using 511 clothing for years at work. The clothing line is made in several different countries.

yes I can tell… the pockets in the academy shorts keeps moving.

I bought two pairs of heavy cotton cargo pocket shorts from Academy about five years ago they were marked made in Russia.

They are tough and quality made I have worn and washed& power dried them hundredes of times and they show no signs of wearing out.
I think theywill last for many many more years.

I was disappointed in the quality of the VTAC sling I got. So, ordering directly from VTAC would ensure better quality?

I got my vtac sling through Noveske’s site

There are several diff. versions of this sling. The majority of them are made overseas (like Vietnam or somehwere). They do make some that are berry amend. complient, but have yet to see any of those at dealers.

I would suggest that you also look at the BFG Vickers slings. 100% made in the US and they use far better materials than VTAC does.

I have the padded and original VCAS sling. It is awesome. Extremely well made and very slick and adaptable.

My only complaint is it can be tricky to make the padded VCAS shorter for small guys like myself

my new VTAC sling has webbing that looks discolored and slightly frayed…my Vickers sling (for an 870)is is made with better quality webbing…no big deal

I’m thinking about trying one of these out…Any thoughts?

I’ve heard they’re pretty decent, but have yet to see a good write-up.

I run a GS-2P as my duty sling. For a couple reviews, you can take a look at the below link. The Vickers/ BFG sling would be my next choice without any hurt feelings.
