I finally had a couple hours to get this video edited. It’s been a BUSY past couple of weeks. Thanks for sticking with me.
The next video will be the SWR Octane45 review which will be MUCH longer as I highlight the versatility it has by showing all the hosts it can mount to and be used on.
I wish I had more live shooting footage of the Specwar 556 but time was limited that day. I will say that it thoroughly impressed me. The sound and tone signature was great, no blowback, looks business like, and best of all it’s fairly cheap considering the materials and R&D. I would love to own one one day. Maybe after my 762 Specwar stamp comes in
Pros:
Durability- rated to 7" full auto (first in industry)
Tons of mounting capabilities (thread on, silencerco, AAC, YHM)
Able to mount under a rail as suppressor body is used to lock
Interchangeable end caps (first in industry)
Looks friggin BA
Cons:
Cost
Complicated look to some
Some blowback (as tested on my 10.5" SBR)
Specwar 556 Pros & Cons:
Pros:
Price (can be had for $550 on the net)
suppression (134 on 16" bbl M855ammo)
simplicity
durability (don’t think its 7" rated though)
no blackback (didn’t notice any when shooting & Sco markets this)
Cons:
Can’t mount under a rail system as you can’t lock it on
Must use the SWR brake or flash hider to mount
Looks too plain for some? (I dig it)
BOTH have lifetime trouble free warranty. I guess it depends on your wallet and what mounting capabilities you want or need.
I guess (this is a guess) but I’m usually willing to buy the best and call it a day so I would jump on a Saker can (I like the design and it fits my AAC mounts on all my existing rifles).
But not everyone is willing to drop huge cash on a little gain that they may or may not see any benefit from (ie 7" barrel, fitting under a rail, specific attachment, full auto, 10k+ round counts with heavy mag dumping, etc). That’s what I see he specwar bringing to the table in spades.3
There is a 90% reduction in baffle wear on the Saker. That’s huge. The lifetime warranty will give the specwar an advantage during normal times. The saker will have a big advantage should the company go out of business or society collapse thanks to war, financial crisis, pandemic, zombies, etc…
I agree the Specwar is best for most people in most situations. But the saker’s durability ege is significant.
Any updates? I am awaiting paperwork for mine and have the trifecta mount but I’m thinking of picking up a muzzle brake as well to see what I like better. Has anyone compared the two?
