Vickers sling: quick release or QD swivel?

I am about to place an order for a Vickers sling with the sewn in QD loop in the front. My personal debate is, if I should go for a quick detach in the rear, or another QD loop. Here are my concerns:

  1. QD: The attachment point on my stock (VLTOR iMod would allow for continuous spin. I’ve heard that this gets annoying in that the sling can get twisted up if you’re not careful. Not sure how much this happens realistically though.

  2. Quick detach: I’m concerned this will add too much length to the overall sling.

The reason I need a quick remove option from the sling is because in my communist state of NJ, I have to have a stock that is permanently pinned to the extension tube. Therefore, I cannot remove the stock when cleaning, so I’d like to be able to quickly remove the sling at least to make life easier.

Thanks for any feedback!

Go with the QD swivel on the rear, and to prevent rotation run a piece of shock cord through it secured by a cordloc. It works for me.

Great idea, thanks so much!
