Hi
Is this something to worry about?
I have rock river arms PDS pistol and the barrel has a tiny small nick that I can see in it. Near the muzzle end. It is very very small small imperfection. about half as small as the letter c <---- you see in this txt. It dose not appear deep a fraction of a mm. I had this pistol for several months and only fired 40 rounds with it and just noticed this after a cleaning again tonite. I had no problems at the shooting range and I suspect this barrel was born this way.
Would this effect anything. Apparently it did not at the range when i used the gun. I doubt this is something I did in cleaning.
Thanks!
You need to post a close up picture to get a real answer.
Ok folks try this and see orig post in this thread

not an easy shot to photograph. this is looking down the muzzle about inch from the front
Iâd get in contact with RRA. That doesnât look like the kind of damage you could do yourself without doing something really stupid. I doubt its really a safety issue but it canât be good for accuracy especially if itâs that close to the muzzle.
Any chance that that âscratchâ is under your gas block? Iâm thinking gas port. Hard to tell from the pic.
I am thinking the same thing. What do you say OP. That scratch looks like a hole to me.

Could very well be. Could you show me your hole? or have any example images of what this hole could look like? it is right under or very near the regulator dial. The strange thing as in my photo is it is not a hole but more a half moon shape. I cant find any info in the gun manual. I would like to confirm this. thanks very much as all this could make sense now. My 1st piston driven type gun.
Thanks! ![]()
I did some searching and found this in a google search I didint think to search 1st before i posted here cause i had nothing to go on http://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=488797 there is a photo similar to mine in this link so I assume you guys are correct and helped me out! Thank you very much everyone here ![]()
Dammit you guys ruined it. We could have had some fun with this one.
Yeah I know, but it reminded me of the first time I saw the port in my barrel and I had the same concern. Better to help out a brother than make fun of him ![]()

Thanks Aguila!
I am not from a gun family and I learn on my own. With a little help from friends, forums, LGS and youtube I am getting by and figuring this all out! The more of us the better for our cause! I attempt to post a photo of my RRA here.
woah
:o
Reminds me of the guy who moved his gas block to make a mid-length and wondered why his handguards kept blowing off.
