Vang Comp shotgun accessories ?

Have opportunity to pick up a used 870 for under $200 with 20" slug barrel. Checked Vang Comp Accessories link for Ghost Ring Sights on a rail with front sight, dang $475.00.

$475 when I can pick up a new 870 Tactical for less than $500 with Ghost Ring Sights etc.

Now too my question is his work/parts that much better then what is on a new 870 Tactical?

Following is from Vang Comp Accessories Link:

in Matte Black $475

I have an 870 that Hans has worked on. To me the cost of the work is inconsequential as he can take an 870 make make it sing far beyond what Remington is capable of. I can’t answer your question about his sight package as I opted to keep mine as it came from the factory.

FWIW Hans is the nicest person you’ll ever have to deal with. I ordered a couple of parts from him and they forgot to put the mag tube spring in with the order. He called personally to apologize and when the packaged showed up with the spring he had thrown a Vang Comp hat and stainless follower to make up for a simple mistake. IMHO That’s the type of business that is worth patronizing.

I have a Vang Comp 870. It has the railed rear sight (LPA), tritium front sight and most other options. I will say that Hans work is first rate. The machine work, sight installation, repark, etc are all first rate. As far as the individual components that Hans uses, there are none better. The only component that I haven’t tried is VC’s side saddle.

Hans makes one slick, tight patterning shotgun.

If you live in Arizona and drive up to take personal delivery of your new shotgun, Hans takes you out to lunch. Can’t beat that.

I started with a remington 870 express and over time had the barrel “vang’d” added scattergun ghost ring sights etc etc. Once you add the real costs up of upgrading your weapon a piece at a time and consider the quality, his prices are not out of line. At the time, though, my budget dictated that I make modifications a little at a time.

Every year Hans runs a Christmas special on barrel work and fully assembled shotguns. If you are a previous customer on barrel work he has offered even bigger discounts on a vang’d shotgun. I sold the express to a fellow officer and bought a complete 870P from Hans and have no regrets.

We had an officer send in an 870 receiver that evidently was out of spec to have a rail installed. The rail did not sit flush on the receiver and Hans replaced the receiver with a brand new one and ate the cost even though it was most likely a pre-exisiting problem. Not a lot of businesses left who would resolve a situation like this.

Hans isn’t having the Christmas Special, he is receiving over 500 weapons from a government agency and therefore he will be BUSY.

Thanks for all the input on his workmanship, my budget is restricted to a part at a time. Monies are tight.
