USO pics

finally got my new USO that I won a certificate for. Haven’t mounted it yet, but thought i’d take a pic or two next to my older USO and show some interesting features.

both are SN3 TPAL. One is 3.2-17x44 and the other is 5-25x58

first thing to notice is it’s really long! There’s a 2" sunshade on the big one, and a 2" ARD on the smaller one.

The smaller one is typical right hand, with windage/illum on the right and parallax on the left. For the new one, i asked for illum/windage on the left (and capped so it can’t get bumped) and parallax on the right, since i am left handed.

The second picture shows the slightly taller new EREK, with the LARGE FONT option for us old people, and also the 11 mil per turn knob instead of the 9 mil per turn knob common on the older ones.

generally, i must say, the clicks are very nice and crisp and much better, and the glass is stellar. The scope seems unbelievably sturdy. heck, the screw-in aluminum lens covers probably took more machine time than most scopes.

I’ll try to take a pic of the bubble level inside after i get it mounted. it’s nifty, but could use less bubble and more juice. the pushbutton illum rocks!

i’m pretty happy

Glad you are enjoying it. Did you get the milestone EREK?

I too am a USO fan. Great scopes and great company. Had one of mine out for some ammo testing this weekend.

Had them do a custom magnification stop on two of mine, so it’s a 5-17 TPAL with the green digital push-button lit GAP reticle.

I am a huge fan of capped turrets for my hunting rigs. My main coyote rifle wears a custom USO 5-17x39 30mm tube with green lit GenIIxr reticle and ARD. Best coyote optic I’ve ever used. In hind sight I would stick with the 44mm objective though. It sure is a sleek package with that little bell out front however.

It sure is nice to be able to call them up and get a scope configured nearly any way you can dream it up.

I’d like to shoot one of these. I don’t know anyone who owns one. Never seen one on the range. Seem like great glass.

My favorite feature about USO’s is the power ring. It’s the easiest to run of any scope I’ve used. Nightforce is a close second.

yeah, it is nice

no to the milestones. i dont’ like “more tactile clicks” or any of that stuff. did you get them?

Absolutely. I love not having to look at my turret to know where I’m at. Dialing is WAY faster because you can just count the heavy clicks, then count the fine clicks to drop into your solution.
