I recently received my new Jones Tactical EDC belt, and I’m extremely pleased with it, it’s a fine piece of work and just perfect for what I needed it for. As I was of course playing big boy dress up w/ all my different holsters, I couldn’t manage to get my Crye gun clip over the thicker webbing of the belt. Has anyone else found a solution to this?
Remove the screw that adjusts the cant, mold a fitted belt loop out of 0.093" Coyote Brown Kydex, drill through it and screw it back together. Boom.
You actually use the Gun Clip? I’ve only seen one in person at a class and was less than impressed. Didn’t help it was being used by a Crye fanboy who could shoot his pistol or rifle worth a damn.
What makes it more useful than a 6004 or an ALS with a UBL?

Just “pulled the trigger” on one myself, I’d be interested to hear a more detailed opinion of your impressions, and overall satisfaction?
Cheers
The only advantage I can see is that it can be used with a pistol that has a suppressor mounted.
It’s not a perfect solution to all things, but it is a fairly cheap holster for banging around the property, or keeping in a bag. I don’t profess to have the level of expertise needed to say whether it is the best, I’m just asking about what I can afford and what I have.
That being said, it’s nice to have a small holster that doesn’t care what you have on your glock, it’s just one size fits all. It’s sturdy, the gun doesn’t bang free (in my limited stress tests) and the draw/reholster isn’t too hard to get the hang of.
As long as you’re happy. My biggest concern is if a shooter switches between the clip and traditional holsters. They are very different draw strokes. To be effective wih the clip I’d submit you couldn’t use any other holsters.
El Cid, I would agree w/ this assessment. Perhaps I should explain precisely why I got it and what I use it for.
I have a sort of SHTF bag that mostly gets used when we go to visit a friends farm or we go camping or something. Until then, it sits around, sometimes in my car which can get quite hot inside. I had gotten the glock recently, and I needed a cheap but good holster to keep in there for the odd occasion when I needed it. I fully intend to get a nice holster eventually, but between running to the Academy and grabbing a blackhawk and the crye gunclip, I decided to give the gunclip a try.
I have a Cane and Derby pancake now, and it’s the one I work on when I practice drawing and reholstering. The crye is a nice backup to have though, and interesting piece of gear if nothing else.
