Let’s assume it’s good condition. Would you pay $900 for it or just pass?
For what it’s worth, I have a safe full of 6920s, 6940s and 6720s so I don’t need to buy it. Just thinking about this as a good quality beater.

If I wanted one yes. It is a colt.
I’d pass. If it was a STEAL, why not? But it doesn’t seem like that much of a steal, and it can’t do anything your other rifles can’t
A new 6720 is $975 I would pass.
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. At $800 it would be more compelling. At $900 I’m thinking I should just wait for a 6720 to come on the market.
I could use those funds to get another ACOG, but I probably won’t buy both another ACOG and another Colt all in the same weekend.
I think that’s the smart play. In situations like this, my general rule is I won’t buy anything that I can make any less than a hundred bucks on. Because this is a more expensive item, I might even want a little more. At 750 or so, I’d pick it up, because there’s enough money to be made if you ever dump it to be worth what you have to park in it.
I got a small pang of regret when I made the decision, but I passed. I feel comfortable that it was a solid call.
Look for a used 6520 in the $750-$850 range. They are out there.
Thanks all. The sanity check was very helpful.
Where can I get a 6720 for 975.00…I might pick one up at that price.
