Seen worse, but he seems to have some FOS problems such as claiming his disability derailed his nomination to attend the Naval Academy when in fact he was rejected prior to the accident that left him disabled. So he’s willing to lie about important stuff in order to get elected.
I’ll admit that I like John Lovell’s content in general. Seems like a good guy, and I sent money his way.
He was cool before he felt that he could do more good actively political than producing good content that obviously leaned a certain way. I think he is mistaken, and some of his guests, including this one, are suspect. I immediately got a “don’t trust this guy” about this interview, just like I get a “he’s out of his depth” nearly every time Lovell starts talking politics.

I’m not a regular follower of anyone, beyond enjoying the funnier Matt Best videos, but what little I’ve seen of John Lovell I like and I get the direction he’s going. But like you, I don’t think Cawthorn came off very genuine, maybe that’s not even possible anymore with politicians. Can’t really comment on Lovell and his ability to navigate politics, I haven’t seen enough of his material. Talking heads on tv are bad enough, I can’t really watch any of their internet versions.
Even gun specific channels are hard more me to watch. I can do Forgotten Weapons with Ian because it’s 99% firearm history and not Ian’s opinion of news events. Same for Larry when he was putting up content and Military Arms Channel but that’s about it. The rest seem to be guys shilling for free sample guns or they are doing “guns and politics” or they don’t have the first damn clue about anything they are talking about and they just have a “me too - hey notice me” gun channel.
Youtube has largely become the “reality tv” of the internet and most of it is completely unwatchable.
I have a hard time trusting any “law maker” that can’t follow basic laws, especially repeated violations of the same laws. I wouldn’t trust a cop with a revoked license who won’t stop brining a gun through carry on, why do we stick up for a congressman who does?

I don’t think Cawthorn is a DNC plant. He’s very, very anti abortion. He opposes gender identity politics. I just happen to think he’s a self serving idiot who doesn’t take the time to understand the rules because he feels he’s above them. Just look at his appearance on Lovell’s channel. He dressed the part and played the part, he’s wearing more WPS gear than the host. 100% pandering, nothing more.
But he’s clearly an idiot and without a powerful rabbi in government to pull his ass out of the fire, he’s gonna be on video doing drugs or blowing some guy as soon as he gains any real relevancy in government because he’s too stupid to see he’s being set up.

I don’t vote for R’s and I don’t vote for D’s and I don’t vote for I’s, but what I do try to recognize is some politicians are more friendly to my positions than others. I don’t defend guys like Trump, for example, except in those areas that we tend to agree. Trump’s pro-gay marriage stance was wretched, but his pro-life stance was excellent. As it turns out, I don’t get to have the guy I want in various offices, that’s somebody else’s business, so I try to be patient. As far as Cawthorn, I hope he can overcome whatever youthful indiscretions that may or may not have overtaken him. He’s a fallen man like the rest of us, I wish him well.
