wanted to know before i ordered a Us Palm Ak Mag. are these reputable? Ive got a couple of TAPCOs they seem a little difficult to seat properly into the mag well. Maybe because they are new. But wanted to know if US Palms are any better.
Thanks.

I have not tried US Palm mags, and at $30 each, will most likely not try them. Surplus metal mags work fine. I you want polymer, Circle 10 mags can be found for less and are proven. If the US Palms were around $20…maybe a different story.
You can get real, mil spec, brand new Polish mags for half the cost at AIM…
I wouldn’t use them if you gave them to me for free. They have a reputation for blowing the bottoms out at random from such harsh use as “loading 30 rounds in”. Supposedly newer generations fixed this, but the entire design is faulty.
-Lack of full metal reinforcement
-Random failure of “bonded” (glued) floorplate
-Inability to be disassembled (for “higher strength”, but see previous)
-EXTREMELY overpriced
One good thing I can say about US Palm, if you do buy one of their magazines and it does blow up, they will send you a new mag, and maybe a second new mag, or one of their pistol grips, plus some swag, all at their own cost. So at the very least, they will make it up to you.
…assuming you weren’t using the mag for something serious and died because their overpriced mag failed. Just get metal surplus mags.
No you can’t; they are sold out ![]()
OP, while an older thread; this is a must read -

If you know where to get Circle 10’s for less than $30 I’m all ears.
There were several sellers with Circle 10’s in the EE last time I looked, but they all seem to be sold. Good deals don’t last.
I actually enjoy using them. I ran about 8 of them through the first AK Operator Class at Ronin Combat Strategies about 2-3 months ago. I didn’t have any problems at all. I only have one Gen 1 AK30 (the ones with the glued on bottom) and I haven’t had any problems with it yet. I do admit however, that I only use that one for training purposes.
I managed to crack the feed lips on one of them after constantly loading/unloading it. It still runs but I can tell that it will break eventually. I actually blame the damage on myself (poor loading technique as I was still learning). Would it have happened to a steel mag? No. But I still prefer the US Palms.
US Palm AK mags, read this thread.
These just came state side. ![]()

Those aren’t Circle-10s. In fact, they don’t even have metal reinforcement in the spines. Looks like a slightly modified “bullet mag”.
The first Gen mags had some glue issues, but once that was fixed they’ve proven to be a good magazine.
We (SI/OST) have probably seen and sold more of them than anyone inside training classes and I’ve seen exactly three self destruct and all were first gen mags.
I use them as well as Circle10s and surplus mags and haven’t had issues with any of them.
They also don’t fit all mag wells equally well because there are so many variances in builds with no set standard. Of all the ones I’ve seen they are usually on the tight side at the front of the mag well where the mag well narrows.
Those are the Circle 10s I believe.
redone13’s link is correct and the waffle mags are the ones I’m referring to. I’ve ordered several from k-var in the past. I just thought based on his first post that 7.62WildBill had a line on where to get them cheaper since they are pretty much $35 everywhere I’ve seen them, but he clarified he was talking about the EE.
Sorry for the thread jack OP
Neagative.

Retail Price: $19.99You may have seen a version of this magazine around the internet. The difference between them is the other version only had metal reinforcement around the lips. That version as well as other mags that are all polymer can crack.
Much like the beloved Circle 10 magazines from Arsenal Co. of Bulgaria, these new magazines feature the steel reinforcements in the spine, lips, and locking lugs that have made circle 10 magazines popular.
(note the steel inserts)

K-VAR Corp is a sister company to Arsenal of Las Vegas/Bulgaria they don’t sell airsoft quality shit.
Please read the quote again: I said they don’t have reinforcement in the spines. There are no spine reinforcements in the picture.
Did they leave out the spine reinforcements in the picture?
Did they incorrectly write about spine reinforcements in the description?
Which is reality? I’m not sure. Are you?
edit: compare your picture to this .pdf diagram (from Arsenal/K-Var) showing the one-piece front lug and spine reinforcement used in Circle 10 magazines. At the very least, the ISD magazines would have to use a two-piece front lug/front strap reinforcement.
Also, those magazines are not made by Arsenal of Bulgaria, or Arsenal of Texas. They’re made by ISD Ltd. of Bulgaria [same company that made the previous low-quality “bullet mags”].
I just ordered a bunch this morning.
Here is a hint, why don’t you call them? ![]()
The info I quoated was from an email I got from them.
Sweet, please let us know how they work out for you.
Yes, I got the e-mail, too.
Either:
*ISD Ltd. is using a two-piece front reinforcement strap and lug (contrary to military magazines) AND the front reinforcement was left out of the picture
*OR they’re using the proper one-piece reinforcement and somebody put a locking lug from a completely different magazine in the picture and left out the proper one
*OR they simply don’t have a front reinforcement strap and somebody made a typo
Why call K-Var? To ask what a commercial company puts in its commercial mags? I only buy military surplus mags. ISD Ltd. isn’t a military supplier. That’s like me getting all bent out of shape to see if Bushmaster MPI tests each of their bolts.
Appearantly you got all bent out of shape anyway. . .
