US Army Patrol Ambushed in Panjwai Afghanistan

J8, you’re good Brother.

We know where you are coming from. I was just letting you know things are fixed, as far as my world, with the ROE.

Thats good to hear, I’m on my way back soon :neo:

I understood completely what you were saying. I was just curious if there had been some kind of radical departure from what I had seen. I’m good to go and agree that quarterbacking this thing is probably not the best course. It’s five minutes of a TIC with no detailed explanation of what happened before or after the footage and that’s a whole story that we don’t see. There’s some sloppy stuff going on, but who’s ever experienced something like this where nothing was done wrong? I’d say watch it, recognize the things that might be questionable and then make it a point to address those with training and self assessment. That fact is: if there were cameras at every contact there’d be stuff to cringe over.

What I gathered
The guy with the cam, rocked it

The saw gunners turned into little bitches, team leaders could have stepped it up quite a bit too.

As for destroying the enemy, the sit. looked less than ideal to give chase, and I heard people say they didn’t see anything,

Looked like a presence patrol, better to get some vehicels and go back and ask the elders whats up

Hopefully I did not come across from my earlier post as if I was going to give my JOHN MADDEN breakdown.

Frankly, it was obvious to see from the video that the only trooper doing his job was the dude with the helmet cam. The others stayed under cover and for the most part only returned fire when HC told them to. If I could I’d give him big time props and buy him a beer.

They are Rakkasans.

Well I just watched it he is lucky he didnt shoot that joe. I know I have done some strange shit when rounds came in to just reacting body did what ever the hell it wanted. Everyone is diffrent.

I am still trying to figure that whole thing out. We did an informal NCOPD with this video and couldn’t grasp why things played out the way they did. Too little context within the video. But, I agree, the joe is lucky he didnt get ventilated
