URGI/Removing T Marks

Hello, I was watching videos on the URGI that I am cloning and Bill says that they wanted no white fill in the T-marks for subdued night vision requirements. On the “near clone” uppers they are using an upper with engraved T-marks and on the “clone” it is a Colt with white t-marks. I have a Mueller with engraved and a colt upper. Obviously I am trying to make it as clone correct as possible so which upper would you go with? Is there a way to remove the white from the Colt upper so I can have my cake and eat it too? My MK16 Rail and ACH I received today both have the correct NSN rollmarks and no colorfill.

So acetone then basically?

If it’s laser engraved then solvents won’t touch it. I’d try the alumablack suggestion.

If it’s a C-marked Keyhole or some older “13629” ones, acetone. If it’s a newer “13629”, it could be acetone or Alumablack. Some got white fill, some got laser engraved. After you remove the white colorfill, you’ll still need Alumablack.
