Wanted to thank my friend Steve of http://adcofirearms.com for his help with this build and his patience with me changing my mind till I find what works for me. He is known for his builds of Mod 0s and Mod 1s so we’ll call this one a Mod V.

Looks great - specs?
I recently changed out my optic (Nightforce 2.5-10x24) to a larger 3.5-15x50 because of the greater magnification - what are you running with that?
nicccccccccceee…got a bigger picture for my wallpaper ?
Impact, send me an email address and I’ll send you the original fullsize file

The optic is a Leupold MK4 3.5-10 Mildot on a Larue mount. It is Steve’s and he was nice enough to let me borrow it, I am looking at the IOR 3-18 illuminated MP-8, or the 2-12x36 when it hits the shores.
I do see 2 changes coming. A SPR screams for an OPS 12th model and I think the Vltor fsb would look much better.
Nice setup!
If you exchange the M4FA for an OPS 12th Model I would be very interested in hearing your subjective opinion of which is quieter …
Nice rig. How’s it shoot?
I don’t have to exchange them to give you my thoughts as we (the Adco gang) have shot many side by side. They are both hearing safe but the Ops is tuned to a little higher pitch. So, and this is for me and my ears, the Surefire is a little more pleasant to the shooter. The Ops should, since high frequencys dissipate quicker than low frequencys, be harder to locate for the bad guys.
My other thought is many have made much of various makers QD methods and I like my Surefires. That being said and since “I” don’t have to worry about attaching it in an instant, I like the Ops mounting system much more now than when I first bought my Surefire.
That’s beautiful. Steve and co. do great work. ![]()
I am positive it will shoot just great, like all that Steve has built for me. It just got built Saturday and I am way too sick today to enjoy laying on the ground playing and arguing/debating with all the know-it-alls at the range about how many rounds are in my mag and is that legal.
will let you know soon.
Outstanding!!I will be sending my colt 14.5 barrel to steve so he can pin it for me ,he seems to do great work .I have order from steve on a few Items and love his 4 buck flat rate on shipping …
super sexy setup Guy
+1. It would be interesting to see some 10-shot groups from 100 yards with and without the suppressor.
What does an SF FA sound like compared to an SF K?
I’ll bet dollars to dohnuts that shoots pretty tight.
Good luck
The answer for me may not be the same for you. I have been fortunate to be able to hear many cans with the Adco gang. I think the FA is a little quieter than the K. Others with opinions I respect (and real world experience) have choosen the K version.
The real difference is you can mount the K on any barrel, you can’t on the FA due to the mount overlapping the barrel.
Thanks. Post some groups when you get a chance.
Good luck
Very nice! Steve does outstanding work.
S/F,
Jeff
Congrats! That is one HOT rifle and another +1 for Steve/ADCO gang.
