Uppers, BCG's, etc., selling like crazy?

Given the chatter, I understand lowers and mags selling out and getting horded, but why is everything else gone too? Uppers, bolts, BCG’s, etc., are parts, not firearms. Is there anticipation this designation could possibly change? Or is it that people are thinking parts availability may become limited? I haven’t saw/heard anything about about it and have just been chalking it up to peoples uncertainty so far.

Because people are buying lowers, then buying uppers and parts and putting them together for complete builds.

And possibly because people think outside the box and realize that stuff is getting harder and harder to find.

Bolts and carriers have been tough to find for some time now. Just got even worse recently.

Received email from BCM today that BCGs arrived. Received email at 1308 and out of stock by 1315. You better be quick to get one of those!

I checked my phone at around 12:02 today after sitting down for lunch. Got an email today from bravo showing it came in at@ 11:51, saying the bcg’s were in stock… Clicked the link instantly to their website, they were already gone… Some f’er that’s probably already got 20 of them, probably bought all they had… Haha

I was two minutes late…

Point taken on assembling complete builds, that makes sense.

Say you’ve already got a couple of lowers and wanted to get a couple more uppers, wouldn’t it make sense to avoid all the frenzy and wait it out and get upper receivers, barrels, bcg’s, bolts, etc., when they are more readily available from retailers and not being price gouged from individuals that are actually willing to sell right now?

Eh, Ive got plenty of lowers in the safe I’ll wait it out. People are being retarded about this stuff. If an awb does go thriugh I’m going to be able to pick up parts to complete my lowers for dirt cheap.

Me too. Was going to pick up a few for parts box…well that didn’t happen

dont forget that this whole ordeal also happened around christmas time. a lot of people were saving all year for ar related stuff. stores were probable stocked for that but then… well… shit happened. had i not finished mine ahead of schedule i would be staring at a finished lower.

Just b/c you have a lower does not mean it is grandfathered. Last ban stated the lower had to have an upper on it to be GTG.

That’s info I was unaware of. However, it seems impossible to enforce, short of BATF immediately inspecting each individual who owns a lower for compliance whenever the ban was implemented. But, I guess that’s typical nonsense legislation.

People are definitely going nuts! I just got 685 bucks for an LMT lower! That did include a very nice Troy QD mount, KNS anti-walk pins, and a 1 point sling though. Still, not worth it. I still cleared way over 200 bucks profit!

I am trying to trade the Spikes upper it was attached to for 8 sr25 style pmags and ammo, but I need to try to talk to the guy again. See if he is still down. If not, I’ll just sell the upper minus the BCG and charging handle.

Everything is crazy these days.

There is going to shortages for a while. If you want to take that bet then go for it. I wouldn’t.

That was possibly in true in theory, but it would be almost impossible to prove. And the burden would be on them to prove otherwise.

Well I just bought a lower from a friend last week for $50. I couldn’t pass on it, so Ill join in the panicked market and get it put together ASAP!

Supply will probably catch back up with demand in April, at least it did in my area after the 08 election frenzy. However, dealers didn’t drop prices until sometime in the summer of that year. This is assuming no new significant gun control legislation passes.

I purchased a couple LPK’s from Surplus Ammo when I realized they were saying they had it in stock but wouldn’t be able to ship it for at least 4-6 weeks. After some correspondence with them, I realized they were ripping us off by doubling the price of the kit and told them to shove it up their butts… They are on my list of no business from me, taking advantage of their customers at a time like this says much about their business ethics, not how I would run my business. I would have the guy answering emails, taking inventory or shipping parts… then he wouldn’t need to answer emails…

People hoard Bolt Carrier Groups for some reason.

Some dude here had 5 extra sitting on his bench last panic incident.

If people put half the effort they do in hoarding into fighting stupid gun laws, these fucktard politicians wouldn’t dare propose a thing.
