I recently ordered a Fulton FAR-15 “Legacy” and was pleasantly surprised to find it’s already here and ready for pickup. I shot a few magazines out of one that belongs to a coworker and really liked everything about it, super light with almost no recoil and I love the vintage look. Thats what inspired me to order it. I have family that served in Vietnam and grew up seeing pictures of them and their friends over there carrying them, so a bit of a connection to own one like theirs.
Anyone here own a Fulton?
My coworker has several and said they have all ran wonderfully for him over the years.
Any tips or suggestions?
Where the guy was discussing having cycling problems using 55 grain ammunition and trying to blame it on his 1:9 twist barrel…
He ratted himself out later in the video by admitting he was using reloads and IMR 4198 powder.
That powder is too fast (burning rate) for all but the lightest of weight bullets and really just not a good bullet for .223 in a semi auto like the AR. Had he used a more suitable powder he would not have had any issues.
Had nothing to do with the twist rate on his barrel and everything to do with his experience level as a reloader for that platform. Same powder could have worked just fine in a bolt gun but…

You’d think the people at Fulton would know “slab side” refers to the lack of a magazine release button fence and has nothing to do with lack of a forward assist. The one in the video is NOT a slab side.
ETA: Nevermind, the video was produce by some idiots called FortuneCookie and not Fulton. Lots of gun store knowledge in that vid.
This is why I almost NEVER click on youtube gun videos. I don’t want these goobers racking up views on junk (gun store knowledge, as SteyrAUG called it) content.
Here are few snapshots when I first received the rifle, to my eyes it looked flawless inside & out, everything looked perfect. So much so that I didn’t want to shoot it :stop:
But once I had some free time I couldn’t resist and went out behind the house to try it out, it ran perfect. I was surprised how light it was, when I shot my coworkers I didn’t seem as light but it was my first time with it so I’m sure I missed many of the nuances. I immediately shot it at 100 and the sights were spot on right out of the box, hitting plates was cake. I then shot at 200 and was hitting them maybe 50% of them time, but I’m sure that was all me and the split fence I was using as a brace.
I’m already thinking about getting their A2 and putting an optic on it

I’m actually torn about picking one up. Not that I’m unsure of Fulton, but unsure about buying the rifle or putting money into something else. But I think a 601 rifle would be a cool addition to my collection.
