Hasn’t crossed my radar, and I try and stay tuned in to such things. I seriously doubt that it’ll be a reality. If the dems want to do something prohibited by the constitution, they’ll simply do what we’ve done for the past 150 years…ignore the constitution we have.
With that said, NOTHING good would come of such a thing right now…and I can only hope that Texas would secede if they got carried away.
Definitely not happening…I’m not even sure they’re serious.
“Many people are uninsured and have no healthcare. Greed and self-interest are at an all time high. Corporate executives are receiving annual salaries and bonuses that hold no relationship to the value of their work. Why does anyone need an annual salary greater than $250,000, or for that matter over a million dollars? The gap between the haves and the have nots grows leaving millions of individuals and families living from hand to mouth – a new poverty for the 21st century. The Country needs help. Our Constitution is no longer serving the common good, but serves the good of the wealthy and privileged. We need change. When our Country’s founding fathers wrote our Constitution, they were seeking freedom from the rule and domination of the British ruling class. We need change from the greed and domination of the Corporate Elite.”
And my favorite…“Your attendees can be any historical or contemporary individual, wealthy or poor, real or fictional, living or deceased.”
If it had stopped here “First, the amendment shall require the President to submit and the Congress to adopt only balanced budgets for all federal programs and agencies, except in times of war.” I might have been cool with it.
In it’s entirety(and I’m not the constitutional scholar I should be) it looks as though it would provide a lot of power to the executive branch that it does not need.
