Fremont High School in Oakland, California went viral after a photo showed the flag pole in front of Fremont High School flying the Palestinian flag, reportedly in place of the American flag.
The photo was initially posted to X by freelance reporter Zach Haber on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, the flag was gone, according to KTVU.
Shira, of Israeli and Arab ethnicity, is the mother of a seventh-grade son in the Oakland Unified School District and told the outlet, “Our students are struggling to keep up after Covid with their math and their reading and I don’t understand why this is such an issue here. And, if it was about peace, there would have been an Israeli flag and a peace sign as well.”
“It causes real damage on the ground to the students, and it causes more divisiveness and puts our children in harm’s way. We already have to deal with violence on school grounds and now we’re going to have to deal with geopolitical conflict,” she said.
Zoya Vies, a mother of six whose family immigrated from Russia to flee antisemitism there said, “It is very clear. When you fly a Palestinian flag over a public school, that you are taking a stand. If they were taking a humanitarian approach and their resolutions and their thoughts and their ideas were around bringing home hostages or around peace, as a whole, in the region, that would be one thing. But they’re clearly taking a stand.”
It’s amazing to me that only 10 years ago states were removing CSA flags from anything and everything but now they are flying what is basically a NSDAP flag.
It blows my mind to see that shit associated with personal accounts on social media.
It’s not like those kids coming out of that school are going to be productive citizens. It just pisses me off that they will probably end up living off my tax dollars.
No surprise. That school is among the worst of the worst. Useless parents and teachers unable to teach the 3Rs, they now rely on so-called Restorative Justice bs to keep children on the attendance rolls and tax money flowing in. Disgraceful at all levels.
Well to be fair it is happening in libtard-infested shitholes like Kali and Massachusetts, maybe a few other worthless locations. While pathetic and disgusting those repulsive places don’t rank high on my list of areas I give a damn about.
Imagine for a second some backwater town in GA decided to fly the stars and bars on a school flagpole. How fast would the FBI personally respond to that “hate crime”? How many people in the admin office (even if they had no idea it happened) would immediately lose their job and become unemployable for life? How many students (if they were involved) would be expelled and medicated?
I’ve been saying for years that is still isn’t as bad as the late 60s, but between the pedo shit in our schools and the absolute legitimizing of terrorist states and terrorist activity I think we are finally at the tipping point where things are “just as bad” as they were in the late 60s when groups like the Weather Underground were being formed from the SDS and militant groups were taking hostages on campus to force changes in the curriculum.
People flying the Hamas flag like it’s cool is right up there with wearing klan robes in public. You only do that shit when you feel completely safe doing that shit. That there are americans on social media defending OBL and the 9-11 attacks as “resistance” also says quite a bit about what is permissible in the current environment.
We walk a fine line as a nation founded on freedoms. That line, at least to me, is violence and even “aggravated annoying civil disobedience” (an actual charge I wish existed) like blocking interstates and such. Smackdown is in order then!
We cannot as a free society imprison assholes for being, well, assholes unless they are breaking the law. That said, the definition of “breaking the law” has been greatly altered since well before the “St. George Floyd” times a couple of years ago. Assault and battery is now just something that happens during a peaceful protest these days. Those darn kids! :jester: So take this now-accepted train of thought one step back on the severity scale and flying the flag of a terrorist entity is certainly going to be welcomed and rejoiced in.
Without doubt. I knew during the 60s there was a Ho Chi Minh Park in Berkeley, but I really thought that level of drug addled insanity would confine itself to the 1960s, it’s genuinely frightening to see it coming back around again. While I don’t agree with the free speech ruling related to the planned march in Skokie, Ill by the American Nazi Party, I do understand just how unsettling it would be for them to see brown shirts marching down the street again.
I know how much the Hamas flag genuinely bothers me, I can only imagine how it must be to see one on your college campus if you are a jewish kid. Perhaps, and I’m probably wrong, this might be the kind of thing that makes liberal jews in this country finally discover liberals aren’t really their friends. Too many Morris Dee’s in the world, not enough Aaron Zelman’s.
I think it was Jordan Peterson that pointed out all the academic institutions that would lose their shit over nazi/Hitler swag, but have posters up of Mao and others.
I think the crazy, illogical, inconsistent are features, not bugs in their system.
I so want to show up at one of these promos rallies, dressed up in a mask garb, and start whipping women for not wearing Habib’s or talking in public. Force everyone to their knees at prayer time, but the protesters would probably be hip on that. Reference the whole Democratic Party taking in the Congress to the George Floyd dirty.
