Unreal Case Colored/Baron Blued Tactical Supergrade!

One of the nicest ones we have ever done, IMO.

i dig that - that is REALLY nice.

That is down right beautiful… simply gorgeous.

Beutiful 1911. I love the case on the frame.

GOTTA be accurate & reliable, it says TACTICAL right on it!

Love everything about the quality and performance of Wilson’s 1911s.

Hate just about everything about their approach to naming models and marking slides.

I am sure this is an outstanding pistol (classic Wilson quality) but I just don’t care for CCH on a 1911. I do commend Wilson for making the CCH subtle rather garish as I have seen on some other examples from other makers.

Problem is, all of them fu%$ that up, Talon, Special Forces, Operator, TRP, COLT RAIL GUN. Jesus Criminey. But Wilson wins the Bolded Out Biggest name on the side Competition. Springfield does about the best from NOT Branding their stuff too bad. My TRP just has the TRP on the rear slide.

I guess its just the nature of Marketing and it keeps Heirloom Precision and such groups in steady business.

Despite all that, that Wilson is beautiful and I would love to shoot it.

I didn’t have quite the same reaction to the Colt Rail Gun, but I do agree as a general matter of principle. The naming conventions have gotten ridiculous in this industry. I don’t invest in arms to bolster my sense of personal identity and self-image, and I don’t respond well at all to poseur-friendly marketing.

As for Wilson’s, they’ve made significant strides in both quality and customization. It’s nothing short of amazing, really: I’ve got a $3,500 Stealth from a decade ago that can’t hold a candle to the refinement level present in a base CQB from the past couple of years. Yes, I would still be partial to Yost/Heirloom for a true $5k+ project, but Wilson’s is turning out some magnificent 1911s these days. What I can’t understand very well is who actually likes having their top-dollar Supergrade marred by huge billboard inscriptions that are the aesthetic equivalent of typing in all caps (at best) or a thinly-veiled plea for recognition (at worst).
