Unethical behavior leads to outsourcing of jobs from my company, by this company. We outsourced around 750 jobs to India. Don’t get me wrong the company chose to outsource, CEO, board of directors etc. so they can give themselves 1 million dollar raises  But what this company does, and is their m.o., is send in consultants to help make your company more efficient AND also recon/steal what your company is doing that they don’t know, to learn and send to India to train their people, in our case and most, is the IT field.
I’m in the IT field but my job currently can’t be sent overseas, we’ve tried
It requires knowledge of local markets.
If you want a secure job, go in to sells. A good closer is worth more than his weight in gold.
Until the H1B’s come in and do the same job for half as much. Like out sourcing but in reverse.
We’ve had them as well, it’s a cultural thing.
What we tell the little fuckers anymore is to market to your own damn country. You look at things like Coca Cola and these other big international brands and they use foreign agency’s to market to an Indian audience. There’s a huge market for the Indians if they stepped up their game and took over their own region. It’s a huge population and a booming market for consumption.
But they’ll keep trying to be Americans called Joe while in some shitty call center in Mumbai.
How is structuring your company to be efficient and paying your team a bonus for that unethical? That is business.
Plus, I am sure that there are NDAs and non-competes in place to prevent them from making a profit from industrial espionage.

Nevermind-misread statement.
Those damn teachers in Madison fucked everything up…
Oh, wait, this has to do with free market, unregulated capitalism…
Never mind.
Too bad buddy, suck it up, this is the way the Free Market works.
The federal government used to be nearly completely funded by import taxes. I believe a return to federalism and abolishing the income tax would be pretty cool at the point. If you pay your employees overseas less than Americans, the government should level the playing field and charge you for the difference until foreign goods offer you not a cent more profit than domestic goods.
I envision a system where people can earn a crap load of money by the sweat of their brow, then spend it on the goods and services other people in the country provide. We can call it an “economy”.
The Government should level the playing field, eh?
Excellent plan comrade.
When India, Mexico and China implement capitalism and create the same standard of living we do, we won’t have to tax their importers anymore. If they don’t take the hint, they’ll still be a shithole, but at least they won’t drag us down to their level.
The level of jobs they are taking from us is creeping up the ladder to where engineering work is now being done over there, and they come here on visas doing the work for half the cost.
So we go down while they rise up, and continue to export almost a trillion a year overseas with our trade deficit. How long can a country survive when it ships a trillion a year overseas?
I get sick of everything being made in China or some other 3rd world country. It doesn’t benefit us because the prices never come down. No one can tell me you can make an athletic shirt in the US, sell it for 55 dollars like the made in China one, and can’t make a profit still?
In 10-20 years what jobs are going to be left here? Its self defeating because then there won’t be anyone left to buy anything here, and all our money will be in India and China.
A number of companies make clothing in America, one of the biggest being American Apparel, but they’re pretty controversial for supporting illegals. But there shirts are around the same cost as one made in China.
Yeah, because UNIONS of GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES are exactly the same as private sector businesses and stuff.
And the private sector shouldn’t be allowed to be competitive in a global market place because it might hurt the little guy who’s just trying to feed his family and can’t compete with a guy willing to take a wage 1/40th of his. We need the government to step in and tell them they must employee Bill Rogers for $40k a year instead of Shamira Agarwal for $4k a year for the same work and experience
Really where’s the American pride of these companies, it’s just disgusting… ![]()
By the way I’m not a huge fan of out sourcing, I use to do it myself and we had an entire office of people in India on payroll. But we’ve since fired the lot when we found suitable replacements in the states.
Believe it or not some times it’s difficult to find highly skilled employees, most of these people coming out of these Ivy schools are f’n retarded. Maybe they can do some fancy match and know some philosophy but the majority fail miserably when it comes to practical application - but some sucker will give them a great job because of some shitty piece of paper and they’ll make it :D.
So why pay top dollar for unskilled labor when you have places like India & China, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense.
And I don’t like unions either… But I’m not an unskilled laborer so why would I :sarcastic:
It’s amazing how many people who could be replaced tomorrow are so anti union when in most cases the unions are one of the only reasons they have a job at this time, the corrupt bastards (unions).
I’m just ranting, not really directed at anyone.
Its smart to outsource in the short term but long run we’ll just have a nation of people who can’t afford to buy things people want to sell. Im not saying the government needs to step in but I hope these companies realize in the long run its going to hurt them when all the jobs are done in India and everything is made in China. Who’s left to spend money here since they ship all that money overseas?
Unions are fine for cut-and-dry private sector jobs. What’s wrong with them is when a) government employees join them or b) employees of companies that have contracted with the government join them and they start demanding pay increases or insist that their salaries remain the same during budget cuts.
They work for the government, which theoretically has unlimited funds until it crashes and burns (it just takes more money from taxpayers like me and you). In private sector, if the unions don’t perform to par, then the company either goes out of business or is replaced by another that can undercut its large costs of having unions, barring government intervention (see above comment). In the public sector, if the unions go on strike, then the government can’t function and either I, as a taxpayer, lose on services that I paid for or I, as a taxpayer, end up paying more money for something I had no choice about in the first place. It’s the antithesis of business and of working for the government.
Strictly in my opinion, government employees going on strike is on par with dishonorable conduct in the military. You (meaning anyone working for the .gov) knew well beforehand that your funding comes from taxpayers. Demanding that you keep your money during a budget cut, while the rest of the economy suffers, is selfish, arrogant, and socialistic at best. The government employees in unions are the reason we’re in the mess we’re in (along with others).
I don’t get a pay guarantee, it all depends on the success of my job. There is NO reason they are entitled to either, unless you believe in socialism.
The top tier won’t be hurt, maybe upper middle class etc. But the upper classes don’t rely on this country for their wealth. You can make cheap crap in China and sell it back to the Chinese workers and make a profit, billions of consumers exist, maybe not the same GDP that we have, but the numbers make up for it.
I’m not in IT but I was talking in terms of the consulting firm coming in to do x, y and z but then taking proprietary information about our company, that they didn’t have knowledge of beforehand, back to their company, then to India to train. Because otherwise they would never have known how to do p, q, r and s and they wouldn’t have been able to outsource those jobs.
We’re far from the first company they’ve done this to, won’t be the last. Just hoping to spread the word. The job you save might be your own. I’ve gone about as far as I think I’ll be able to go in this company anyways. I’m just using them to pick up everything over what the GI bill doesn’t cover.
Free market capitalism at its finest! :sarcastic:
Yes. it’s never the local gov’ts fault for taxes.
