i finger banged the valsetz at the local leo shop. I loved the weight of them. my first concern was where the rubber sole met the shoe material. it looked week, especially when you bent the toe. I chose to do some more research and the guys over on lightfighter steered me clear of them. I’d really like someone to make a 6" light weight boot that was constructed worth a shit.
Going on one year now with one pair of black and one pair of tan Speed Freeks, worn nearly everyday. Both are holding up surprisingly well. The tan boots have had a great deal of cold water immersion and hiking done on them. The blacks get worn as a duty boot for 46-90 hours every week. They broke in very nicely and should last another year or two.
I just bought my wife a pair of lady Speed Freek Chaos boots, she loves them.
90 hours a week? Damn.
