I’m not sure if this is in the right section; my apologies if it’s not. (I did a search first)
I bought some yesterday in anticipation of installing a new rail this week. I was told it was the same as blue loc-tite. Anyone use it?

It’s made by Loc-Tite! I would presume since the color is identical and they both are breakable threadlockers that likely they are the same–blue loc-tite is cheaper…by the bottle to boot!
Yeah, I knew that loctite made it but I did not know the blue was cheaper (or the same). Thanks for the reply.
Just a heads up, in my experience, and I can only speak to my experience, blue (#242) locktite can be a bear to get off too although not nearly as bad as red. I only ever use purple #222. Screws won’t back out yet you can remove them rather easily later. I would suggest you do an experiment on screws the size you intend to apply it to first.
Blue is generally for screws 1/4" and up. Purple is for smaller screws under 1/4" as typicall will be found on M4’s. I learned a long time ago only use purple on my guns. Heres a chart http://henkelna.com/us/content_data/175835_Threadlocking_Selector_Guide_032010.pdf
Thanks. If this guntite gives me any grief, I’ll try the purple.
My experience has shown no difference between the two. When I run out of the UM tube I’m going to buy the regular just because its cheaper.
I believe they are the same.
