edited to add no affiliation. just an affinity for uber lightness

That is incredible. That makes my ADM look like a pig. I wonder how well it will hold up?

Now that is quite interesting. Almost 3 times lighter than my Recon.

the only thing that concerns me is lack of QR. maybe for a SPR with offset sights but no go for a Recce…

The small claws on the top of the rings worry me. Seems like a week spot for aluminum.

I have no idea what the difference is supposed to be between a “recce” and an “SPR”. Except the joint committee of SOCOM’rs decided 18" was better than 16". Some NSW commands disagreed and went 16"

Nor do I understand the utility of “back up sights” when an offset T-1 weighs the same and is faster.

QD is currently of little utility to me in broad application. There are certain uses, but the tens of thousands of dollars of electric-optical equipment is beyond the reach of most here.

my post? that was shorthand. Speaking strictly as I have seen things defined in general use (not SOCOM or Crane’s definition), SPR is longer, heavier, sporting a long range scope. I don’t have the money for it but a lot of people who do like an offset red dot and no BUIS. no need to remove a scope if you have this.

Recce, as the way I’ve seen it mostly applied, uses a smaller 1-4/6 type scope on QD with BUIS.

the mount without QD wouldn’t fit my idea of a Recce but ymmv…

100% agree and an off set Delta point or RMR weighs even less. I got rid of all my Larue QD mounts and am now running the new lighter Warne Skel mount but this is lighter yet. Interesting.

Dano5326,

Interesting take. Is there a particular offset mount that you recommend for the T-1? Also, a particular location that you find is optimal?

I sent them an email yesterday regarding this scope mount. I am looking to buy one to try out, but I am awaiting their response before I pull the trigger.
I asked them for the height of the center of the scope rings above the rail, the distance between the scope rings, and what kind of warranty they offer on it. If I do buy one, depending on their response, I will offer my opinion here on this mount once I have it.

I have a 1" model. It weighs just a hair over 3oz. It’s a very nice mount for the money. The machining and finish are quite nice. I really like the way the upper ring connects are machined. At this weight it’s long term durability will be something to watch, but Aero seems to be on top of their product.

The mount is 1.5" high to the center. It’s 3.45" between the rings. Don’t know about the warranty.

The claws are actually pretty short and thick.

I am not him but I have run a off set T1/R1 for a while and only recently stopped using that sight. For the T1 the Larue mount is great providing it will clear the rear eye piece on your
scope. I have found you will pick the dot up faster if its mounted as far back as you can get it. I am currently running a Delta Point on a 45 Degree off set on my SCAR now in conjunction with my TR 24 Accupoint which I hope to replace soon with another Vortex 1-6. The 45 degree off set will allow you to clear scopes with larger eye pieces like the Swarovski and Vortex 1-6 scopes.

Thank you, Sir! I appreciate the info. I think I am going to order one tomorrow.

Your welcome.

$85- that’s less than a Burris PEPR

1st to get one please post review.

I suppose will have to order one to try.

I use the newer KAC 45 degree offset on the right side. Smaller and lighter than some other offerings. Clears luepy 3-18x windage knob.

There are certainly valid points to having a micro-T atop a vari-optic too. But 45 works for me.

Pat, how far back are you mounting this? any problems with stuff coming from the ejection port?..
