two i bought for less than $175 total

i like (and collect vintage) Buck knives and recently picked these two up and i will admit, so far im impressed. im waiting on the Hoodlum, so i figured id put these thru the paces while i wait, and see how they hold up. i own cheaper knives, more expensive kives, but in the past Buck has never let me down. i think its very interesting the direction Buck is going with their products.

the one on the left is the Buck/Tops CSAR-T, and the other is a Buck/Tops Nighthawk

We used to have the Buck HQ in the city I work for. I can say first hand they sure seem like good people with a quality operation. I have several older Buck knives and love them.

I see knives with the three cut outs near the hilt and spine - round hole, oval hole, round hole.

What are they for?
