Introduction: This course is designed to develop understanding and proficiency with a tactical carbine. Students will progress from basic handling and marksmanship to core shooting skill sets. This course will focus on techniques used in an urban environment.
Aim: The student will develop skills that will increase their speed, accuracy and confidence with the carbine.
Topics:
• Safety
• Characteristics, accessories, function and maintenance
• Sight-in procedures
• Fundamentals
• Four ready positions
• Magazine changes (admin, tactical and speed)
• Shooting positions and transitioning to shooting positions
• Transitions from carbine to pistol
• Multiple shots and multiple targets
• Sight management
• Barricades
Ammunition Requirements: 100 rounds Pistol/ 600 rounds of Carbine
Gear: Carbine/ Pistol, Carbine sling, at least 3 carbine magazines, 3 magazines for the pistol (5 for single stack weapons), magazine pouches to support the pistol and carbine, belt, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, knee and elbow pads, water bottle, rain gear, and weapons cleaning kit.
Method: This course will be taught using some classroom lectures and mostly practical field exercises

Course Cost: $450.00 including a certificate of completion. A variety of meal options can be purchased from our on-site dining facility for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bunkhouse lodging is available at the North Carolina campus and may be reserved by contacting the Black Bear Inn. Most items on the gear list may be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Proshop.
