She has left the Dem party finally. Forget what you know about her, and listen as if you knew nothing about her, form the opinion.
I Posted on this forum for years now: she needs to be an independent, a Repub, or a Libertarian, but she’s clearly no modern Dem. She’s already wasted for too much time in that party that black listed her and marginalized and the only “Dem” worth damn.
Perfect? Hell no, but it appears Tulsi has taken the blue pill and woke the hell up. Me, I think her on a ticket with say Desantis would suck all the moderate Liberals (vs progressive wack jobs she’s now openly rejecting in public…) would follow her.
Been watching her twitter feed and could literally see her transformation to a thinking human, and from her posts, you’d not pegged her a Dem if you didn’t know what party she was in. Her own words:

I don’t know. What I do know is she’s capable of learning and changing a position on learning something and is not a brain dead ideologue. That’s what matters most to me. Brain dead ideologues from far left or right are dead to me. Trump was for similar at one point, and wrote that in his book. People apparently seemed willing to believe he changed his stance on that. I personally was never convinced, but that’s another topic.
What matters most is if they are independent thinkers who don’t follow party lines, and she never has. She stood alone in the Dem party and would not back HC for pres, and that put her on the perma black list in the party for not falling into step and made a perm enemy of HC.
Finally, per OP, long game and big picture, she could pull a good fraction the Liberals who have had enough of the far left progressive kents who now dominate the Dem party.
Of course they will. Some are not capable of anything but being locked into a POV and giving slack to those they support, like Trump who was for banning assault weapons by his own words, and of course ignoring the Const totally and confiscation of guns without due process, who flip flopped between GOP and Dem how many times?
Anyway, those who can’t give credit where it’s due to her for telling the Dems to screw off in that manner, while giving people like Trump, or Reagan for that matter slack for various 180s in their careers, are to be expected.
Many Libs with a brain often do grow up and realize they were wrong and denounce some of their positions etc. Hard core ideologues, left or right, never do. I know which I prefer.

If Gabbard was currently an elected member of the House from Hawaii and flipped from democrat to RINO giving team red one more seat that would be ok. Otherwise… not going to get all giddy over a gun-grabbing democrat turned RINO. No thanks.

Turn in your stuff. She has still not changed her position on GC. She has not moved right. Like with Musk, the (D)s have just move left. She’s still a Progressive.
Look up her gun control positions. They are all there in plain sight. Top items on the hit list are the “gun show loophole” and implementing an AWB. To this date, she has NOT changed her position on gun control. Let me know when she does.

She’s nothing more than a grifter. She points her finger at the Democrats because it’s popular currently. She knows that the average voter is an idiot that will vote not based on policy, but a few carefully chosen sound bites. Why else would she appear on Fox News so frequently the last few months, even stepping in to cover for Tucker? She knows she needs to plaster her face where the viewership is, and that’s no longer CNN, ABC, etc… It’s Fox News and other rising “Conservative” networks.
It’s not that she doesn’t want 90% of the same policies the current regime wants. It’s more that she disagrees with how they’ve tried getting there and she thinks she can do it better. She got on the bad side of the establishment D’s early on and decided to sit back and let them make fools of themselves while she works over the fence sitters and moderates on both sides. She sees an opening right up the center and is going for it.
When you look at her policies, she’s damn near indistinguishable from the rest of them.
I honestly say good for her, another rift in the democratic party before mid-terms is probably a good thing, I don’t think I’d ever vote for her but her calling out the lefts BS is a welcome thing and I hope that other “Blue dog dems” start waking up

Frequently when it’s time to turnover across generations, some of the younger breed step back and wait for the radical Young Turks to immolate themselves and the Old Guard, then move in to fill the void and resume the Long March.
