Suggestions for “real locks” on a pelican case?

I must have read threads like this time and time again on varied boards. I am tagging this one for future user. Never had to deal with personal firearms and airlines…yet.
That’s correct. However, I’ve met enough ticket agents that didn’t know it. It’s only been a problem once, at an airport where “there are guns in this bag” doesn’t get communicated to the TSA screeners, and they thought I had undeclared handguns. I was called over, gave them the key to the Pelican case and they found the declaration tag inside. The TSA person started to get pissy with me about it when I simply said, “The clerk insisted I put it there. Her name was <blah blah blah>.”
Nearly identical experience flying out of MSP on Northwest. The TSA screener was cool and didn’t think much of the ticket agent anyway. A call to the NWA supervisor took care of it.
After that trip, I decided that if that should occur again, I’d drop a second declaration in the bag. I have spares for the airlines I fly.
