Trying to explain to the folks parked firmly in the Middle of the Road

So I’m listening to two guys discuss the ICE Operations currently going on.

These Guys were very sympathetic to those who had for whatever reason ended up here, behaved themselves but are now getting rolled up by ICE.
I tried to explain to them that to a Good Law Enforcement Officer a law is a law is a law. If they get broken by you, they get charged to you.
I tried to explain to them that Cop’s are Cop’s and Judges are Judges and neither of them has the same powers as the other.
If a Cop see’s or suspects you broke the Law he is duty bound to investigate, not should or could but must.

If there is a better solution to this, why hasn’t suggested it as legislation?
Surely if one looked hard enough and worked hard enough a compromise in the form of Legislation could happen.
That’s not going to happen because both sides see this matter as traction for their future political advancement.

How and why do you catch an 85 year old Grandma who is watching Novellas on the TV.
Her P.O.S. Grandson in Law is a part of MS13. ICE kicks in the door well, they have to take Buella too.
And all for 1/4 ounce of Heroin he keeps in the sock drawer.

Should you feel sorry for them? That’s kind of up to you, I can understand empathy, but draw the line at sympathy.

Cops/prosecutors/judges/the criminal justice system as a whole don’t seem to have any legally binding duties, at least not as advertised.

Illegal aliens would leave(and at a lower cost to tax payers than individual deportations) if those facilitating their being here were nailed instead.

Yes. However, both need to be done. Deport illegals and prosecute those who facilitate them being here. Nobody who is deported should ever be eligible for citizenship. Only those who follow our laws should be eligible.

No problem at all with deporting them.

But we need a guest worker program but, I’m afraid that this has turned in to the “Tar Baby” nobody wants to touch.
If you need four Cowboys tomorrow to help you sort and sell some cattle, where are you going to get them?
This has been an issue since the 70’s, every year we want Beef and fewer and fewer people want to work in the Industry.
Right now in Arizona there are more drunks wearing the Hat than sober hardworking real Cowboys.
As it is now even bringing this up in the House would likely be a Career Ender at this point.
