Why are you using this? Do you know what its’ true intended purpose is?
Because its fucking STUPID.
My shorty is my “Arms reach” carbine.
I carry it indoors as well as in my vehicle.
I have NO use for this what-so-ever.

What ammo and set up is that? That fireball is horrendous.
BCM 11.5", Troy Claymore.
Ammo: Federal 55gr.
Youre right it was absolutely ridiculous.
Every shot I had to re-aquire my sight picture.
You could see it during a bright day as well.
The flash does appear to be less than ideal.
It most definately is.
You mentioned you want it because it directs the noise forward of the shooter, are you willing to trade that for a fireball?
The only thing I can see it being good for is DAYLIGHT only and for range use.
The flash is just too much
Too rehash this, as I was considering an upgrade from my non free float rail on my 10.5 SBR so I could place my support hand as far forward as safely possible.
I am required by my department to shoot my rifle and pistol at night 3 times a year. I also shoot at our range at least once a month for 8-10 hours at a time and I have never had an issue with the fireball or finding a target on follow up shots. During night shoots we use a light though, which reduces the severity of the flash.
What I do have a problem with is team shooting with someone that runs a SBR with a standard A2 or god forbid a compensator. While it is liveable for a while, when you are shooting close quarters (shoot house) with someone, that KX3 is a godsend. It reduces sound and reduces the shock wave to nothing for you or your partner.
It does induce more muzzle rise which can be eliminated through training. It does add considerable length and it is unneeded on anything over 12.5 inches IMHO. Then again, when you shoot at a range to train to protect yourself or your family then worrying about a partner is not a concern.
While I know it doesn’t jive with the community here, I don’t give a shit what someone wants to do to their rifle. whether I consider it a waste or not.
