I have just purchased a .458 SOOCM upper and am looking for a scope to put on it.
The needs…
- Deer hunting / self defense; low-light conditions; 250 yards or closer.
- Illuminated reticle
- Illuminated BDC
- Variable Power
- Less than $300.00
This is the only scope (not red dot) that I have found that fits the bill. Does anyone have any other recommendations? Has anyone used a TruGlo scope?
The two models I am looking at are the TG8531BXB and the TG8531BLM. I am leaning towards the muzzleloader (BLM) scope as it seems like it would take the recoil of a .458 a little better.

I know that this isn’t the best scope out there, but for the purposes I have stated; I think it would work fine. I just can’t find any reviews except from Optics Planet. Someone put one of these on a DPMS .308.

I don’t want to put the EoTech 517 on it as that is for the 5.56
Thanks,
