I’m currently looking at the DD omega 12, but I am also looking at the Troy bravo 13, so far I couldn’t find any threads related to the bravo rails and I was wondering if Anybody has any experience with both of them and has an opinion on one or the other, and which one would be the best buy.
I prefer DD rails… But you will spend about twice as much for an Omega.
Troy makes great sights and tube rails, but I have never liked the look or feel of their picatinny-type rails.
IMO, both names = quality. You really can’t go wrong either way.
For my current build I’m using a Troy, but that’s only because the price was right and it was in stock. I was planning on a DD lite rail but it was $170 more at the time. Both felt good. The troy had LaRue index clips on it at the time too.
What I’m getting down to is you’d be better off handling both and deciding if the DD is worth more dough.
what about the KAC URX rails?
Troy is a more budget oriented line than Daniel Defense. You should be able to find it much cheaper if that is the route you want to go.
No experience with the knights rail…
my friend has a knights and i love the rail on it…sucks the damn barrel nut wrench is 278$…
DD also has the MFAR 12" rail, which is very comparable to the Troy units in terms of price and weight. If the TRX-X type Troy rails are your preference…
I run TROY/VTAC handguards where weight and slim rails are preferred, DD Lite/OmegaX rails where I want to run handstops and mount stuff elsewhere than 12:00 [the X300 with DD Fixed front sight is what makes the TROY rails viable in my mind - still requires a DD item]
I’m loving the various Troy Alpha rails I’ve been using of late. They are solid (provided you have a decent barrel nut), light weight, flexible, and very thin.

Is second the SF MFAR 12" it’s cheaper and is similar to the Troy.
Troy makes great tube rails, I have one and can’t complain. But I am not a fan of their quad rails. I had one on my previous upper and it was bulky as hell. I won’t go into too many details, but I was not happy with the quality of my troy quad rail. One of the reasons I sold it and got the Alpha rail. If you want quad, go Centurion or DD. If you want tube, Troy is a good pick.
I’ve used the Troy TRX Standard 11" which was pretty much the same rail with the older mounting system. It was a lot thicker and heavier than I liked so it ended up getting swapped for a TRX extreme. Had about the same experience with a MRF 10" but I at least had more trust in the mounting system.
I’ve also used the Centurion C4, DD Omega and Omega X. All were 12 inch models. I’d definitely recommend any of those over the Troy Quads in general. Although I probably wouldn’t use the Omega over a lpgb because of the minimal clearance.
Yeah from what I’ve heard Troy quadrails are heavy, does the omega feel wierd when gripping it? It seems like it would be too tall to use the “costa” style gripping technique.
I just switched from trx 13 to a dd omega x 12 and could not be happier with the dd rail. I have no problems with the trx/alpha just prefer the locking system of the dd rails
You can still “C” clamp it (Costa I guess) if you suffer from tiny had syndrome the maybe, If I used the C clamp method then I would consider a tube rail again but I dont, one can make it work with a DD rail especially the new one they have been re profiled to be much smaller…
