Jay—what are the barrel specs?
Does anyone know if these come with ejection port cover and forward assist? You never know with those crazy Canadians.
Sounds like the exclusive Dick’s deal from a few years back…
Were those decent guns for 600.00? That seems like a good/low price.
Seems like a good deal for a $600 rifle.
Looks like it might knock the S&W M&P out of the top spot and be the new #1 for sub $800 AR’s
Yeah this is an incredible deal. I’m really surprised
I was actually on the list for one of those Dicks rifles before that all came apart and in the end I was kind of glad it did. People started reporting really poorly staked gas keys and a mix of semi auto and auto BCGs. I may be wrong but I seem to remember someone claiming the barrels weren’t dimpled for the gas blocks either. I would want to look one over well before buying it, but I guess that at that price it could be worth a gamble. I also find it strange that the specs list the 16" barrel version as having a pinned and welded flash hider.
I have to wonder if the “flash hider pinned and welded” on the 16" is a typo. If not, I can’t understand the logic behind this. I don’t know anything about the Dick’s backstory and not much about Troy rifles in general but it seems this is a pretty good buy for the price. I used Troy sights for years and have had a few of their rails and never been dissatisfied. Maybe I’m missing something in the specs. They’re not very specific on them but they have answered most of the questions on their FB post.
The pinned FH is only on the 14.5. I have one on order & bought it for the upper only. This is a contract overrun & is not gonna be a catalogued item, when they’re gone they’re gone.
I have the 16 inch version headed my way. Called in yesterday and it sounded like it would be a couple weeks before it is shipped. The women I spoke with (Stephanie, maybe) said they were swamped with orders but will honor all that were made before the deadline. I will get some pics up when it gets here, if anyone gives a crap.
Anyone able to give it a specs comparison to the S&W?

I am not as learned as you…so forgive my ignorance…but what is the significance of 4140? Is that good or bad?
Thanks
Where’d you get that info from?
The guy I spoke with at Troy told me 4150, melonite treated with m4 feed ramps.
to buy or not to buy?
I bought for the 14.5 upper. I hope there’s a Mapleleafs fan who wants a cheap lower!
