Troy Industries 308

Has anyone seen or shot the Troy new 308?

You’re being horribly vague. What do you want to know, exactly?

They’re nice looking rifles. They don’t bring anything to the table so far as weight goes, over competitors. Easily capable of MOA in my experience. I don’t like the 1:11 barrel, but to each their own. I’m not impressed by the ‘Medieval’ brake they use; there is a lot of flashy design but little to be desired. YMMV

Sorry for the “open/vague” question. I agree some of the features are not the best. I was curious if anyone has actually shot one. The “basic” model has a MSRP of $1,499.00. No I am not looking for the cheapest 308 AR. However I don’t think I am alone in saying I have never found a production firearm that is perfect out of the box. At that price point it would be a nice starting point to shoot and decide what improvements I want to make, and do so economically as opposed to spending more money up front knowing I will change things later. Once again sorry for the inital post.

Forget the Troy. I am through with them, from both their anti-2A hires, and their subpar products, in my experience.
For the same price and less, you can get an Armalite AR-10 (with factory free float Keymod handguards), or the DPMS G2.

My most recent Troy-related disappointment was their offset folding irons. Inferior to the Magpul MBUS PRO Offset in every conceivable way, and significantly more expensive.

For anyone not already familiar with it, here’s Troy’s website page on the .308 rifle:

The “specifications”, if I may use the term so loosely, don’t tell much. At first glance it looks like a me-too .308 AR with the necessary assortment of pieces shaken out of the Troy-brand parts bin and put together. Here’s a nominal introduction, that doesn’t really add anything:

If there’s anything innovative or unusual about this rifle I haven’t yet seen it stated. Troy has made some good accessories in the past but they seem to be drifting these days.

Bump. A local shop has one my buddy is interested. I’m wondering if anyone else on M4C has experience with then.
