Has anyone used this -
with a mid-length gas system?
It says it is a no-go on Troy’s site but I do not know if it just a matter of using the right lo-profile gas block and some modifications.
I am just finishing a build with a 13 inch alpha on a midlength and I can promise you there is no way you will get the 11 inch with built in sight to work. Even with the 13 inch I had to do some extra dremel work on my shaved fsb to get it to work… the 11 inch is a complete no go.

I also Have the 13" on a middy, and I dont think you could shave enough to make the 11" work.
Im not sold on the flip sight anyhow, it has a little wiggle to it. Id just get the 11" with no sight if thats the rail you want, and then add whatever front flip-up you want.
It states on the troy website that you cannot use the 11" flip up sight with a mid-length gas system. I am currently doing a mid-length build and ordered the 11" Alpha with no sight. Good deal right now too, because troy has 20% off all there products for Christmas.
